This is an entertaining movie!

Perhaps the writers could have mixed things up a bit by having them trapped in an elevator or crawling through ventilation.

I agree the another reviewer - the 5 star ratings have to be fake. I enjoy camp as much as anyone (Plan 9, Lost Skeleton, etc), and I want to support small film-makers, but this just sucked overall. No effects of note, no jokes of note. I finished up the movie thinking "why did they bother?"

This is a so-so film, overpriced. Why? Because you can get it much cheaper as part of the Extreme Zombies 8 Movie Collection.

What's more, it's WIDESCREEN in that collection -- I watched it. As for this stand-alone version, the product description says FULLSCREEN.

So you can either buy it cheap, in widescreen, with 7 other horror films. Or buy it expensive, fullscreen, with no other films.

As for OFFICE OF THE DEAD's quality -- it's NOT a horror film. Doesn't even try to be a horror film. It's an office comedy (e.g., Office Space, Downsize). There's this computer software firm, and the software turns most of the office workers into rampaging zombies. But there is NO gore, NO blood, and NO scares. Just wacky, shuffling zombies vs. snarky cubicle workers trying to survive.

I don't need blood or gore for my horror, but there are no scares or suspense either. It's just not horror. It's a comedy. That would be okay, if it were funny. It's not. No big laughs. Some weak smiles, but as a comedy, it's pretty flat and tepid.

There's one funny moment. Raj, a nerdy computer geek, tries to pick up the CEO's sexy assistant as they're crawling away from zombies. Raj nervously whispers (so the zombies can't hear them) his suggestions to take the assistant out to dinner after this is all over, but she can't hear him. She keeps saying, "What? What are you saying? What are you asking me?" But Raj keeps whispering, failing to communicate, in typical nervous nerdy fashion.

Often with indie films, the casting is horrible... and believe me, I have definitely seen my share of horribly cast indie films, with acting SO bad that even a good story is screwed!
HOWEVER, I was very very impressed with the cast of Office of the Dead. Not only was I engaged, but highly entertained at the concept of a technology that can actually make angry people happy (maybe we should bring this to my work if this technology every materializes).
The trio Ben, Raj and Liz shine together and have great on-screen chemistry (and are easy on the eyes) which is important if the audience is going to stay engaged. Definitely witty and worth your time and bucks!

I watched the trailer for this movie and it is horrible. This movie sucks! Why did they bother making this?

I bought this, thinking the trailers for this movie were funny. Big mistake. While it does have a nice element of office humor, it's a one note plot, taking place almost entirely as a few people run between cubicles away from very slow moving zombies. Perhaps the writers could have mixed things up a bit by having them trapped in an elevator or crawling through ventilation. But then again, that might have cost more than the budget allowed. Perhaps the biggest sin is supposedly "eaten" people showed up later as zombies without an ounce of blood on their clothes. In fact, i'm not sure i saw any blood at all (or bite marks), which makes this a toothless zombie movie. On the plus side, the actors were appealing, but they didn't have much to work with.

I like this movie. The story is funny and has a lot of sense of humor which engineers and office people would like. I will not be surprised if the director and actors become famous one day.
