Office Depot(R) Model 20 (BC-01 BC-02 BX-2) Black Ink Compatible Refill

Here is everything I have learned from refilling my black lexmark black 17 cartridge DOZENS of times (colors don't refill as well and are quite prone to dieing):
1)You can't let the cartridge go dry before refilling it.
2)Use a hammer/screwdriver combo to knock the green top off the cartridge.
3)Have a lot of paper towel on standby and refill over a tarp/plastic
4)Wash hands with soap and COLD water and dry with paper-towel. And ink on hands will disappear within 1-2 days.
5)Refills about 3 times per bottle.
5.1)Tape the cap back on cartridge (Get Direction right). Store ink refiller in plastic ziploc.
6)May have to run cleaning cycle up to 5 times...if not fixed, goto 7
7)Take some papertowel and soak lightly with HOT HOT water.
8)Hold cartridge tip on it for about 15 seconds. Dry with another sheet of papertowel. Repeat up to 3 times. Run more cleaning cycles.
9)If above doesn't work, the cartridge is dead.
10)Enjoy.

I bought this refill kit for my oldest printer, the Canon which takes BC-02 cartridges. My thought was that it would be environmentally friendly and inexpensive. The price was right, and it arrived quickly from Office Depot. But, it's messy, and the ink is difficult to get off (ie., from fingers). Also, the print quality was good, but there were some incomplete areas which required additional cleaning to improve. Lastly, there probably is less to throw away overall; but, the ink holder, the tools and the box itself likely add up to as much waste as the original cartridge. So, next time I plan to buy a remanufactured cartridge and recycle my used one (at Staples for a credit).
(P.S. The ink clogged and stopped working about 1 month after I used this product. I would not buy this again.)

Good but found a compatible product that is just as good from another
source on the Internet.
