The tape doesn't feed properly, the letters are unclear, and the action of the lever is poor. This item would be a rip-off at $4.98. Find something else.

This product worked exactly as advertised for me. I was looking for something that made industrial looking labels that would work well in a humid environment and this is it. I have had no problems with spacing, or anything else for that matter. This is the first time I have used a product like this and after two minutes of playing with it, I learned all the functions. I wanted a product that would make easy to read plastic labels and this product does it for a reasonable price. My only gripe is that it takes a while to make labels because you have to turn the dial for each letter. I'm not writing books with it, most of my labels are one word, so this isn't a major issue for me.

so far i like it, but hard to find the 1/2" tape for it.maybe some one could help me on that ?

I purchased this item to work with some vintage 1/2" label tape that I purchased on eBay a while back. I was skeptical because of the other reviews, but this is the only Dymo label maker I could find that would fit the 1/2" tape. I've been using Dymo label makers for several years in scrapbooking and paper crafting so I was used to the "old school" technology. This item has a much heavier feel than my other label makers and also gives a definite "punch" when the letters are created (my others you just press really hard and hope for the best). The one tip I can give is to be very deliberate when you release the lever after the letter is punched. If you only release it halfway, you're not going to get the spacing you need between letters. I love this item! Now if I could just find a lowercase wheel to fit it....hint hint Dymo...
