Book Description

1590599845 978-1590599846 May 13, 2008 1

This book is a no-nonsense guide for Office users who have a SharePoint environment deployed. Written by person responsible for large SharePoint deployment – his role is helping desktop users integrate and use SP features seamlessly – our author takes users through working through their familiar Office applications and leveraging SharePoint on the backend. This is different than using SharePoint; it’s about putting Office to work and integrating it with SharePoint in such a way that even more benefits and synergies are realized. It’s about using Office and SharePoint as a platform, and there is no book offering on the market combining the two products.

About the Author

Michael P. Antonovich is the Assistant Director of Web Services for Orange County Public Schools in Orlando FL.  Mike started working with personal computers in the early days of the Apple ][ for which he wrote his first book in 1982.  Since then he published four other books all for FoxPro and Visual FoxPro throughout the 1990s.   For the last decade, Mike has refocused his professional career to include web development and SQL Server support while also focusing his non-work time activities on teaching classes at Valencia Community College, speaking at several conferences and working with local computer group chapters by serving on their boards, making the occasional presentation, and generally trying to mentor other professionals.  When not at the computer, he can be found with his family at one of the local theme parks, reading non-computer related books, and beating back the weeds in the landscape around his house.  Mike can be reached at mike@micmin.com and he provides support for this book at http://mpantonovich.spaces.live.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Office & SharePoint User Guide, January 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Office and SharePoint 2007 User's Guide: Integrating SharePoint with Excel, Outlook, Access and Word (Expert's Voice) (Paperback)
I was referred to this book by another reader, and it's probably the best user guide I've ever read. It's a little above the first time SharePoint user text, but if you have general computer savy you'll be fine. It's very easy to follow, and the Amazon price I paid was so unbelievable I thought it was a mistake. I can't wait till the 2010 version comes out. I will definitely buy it!
