I needed to replace my home office chairs, but it seems like every chair I test in the store feels good. How do you evaluate an all-day chair in just a few minutes? Well, I got a new job,and my office chair was a Space Matrex. I use it 8+ hours each day, and I never feel uncomfortable. In fact, I don't notice the chair at all - which is the point. I bought two from Amazon. They arrived earlier than the original estimate (by nearly a week!), were easy to assemble, and they work great for my wife and me.

This chair is simpler than some of the Aeron copies. The chair has adjustments for raising and lowering (they don't lower quite as much as my wife would like - she has her desk at 25 inches. She can't cross her legs under the desk at the lowest seat height), tilt, and arm rests that raise or lower. The arm rests are contoured and covered in high density foam. I find them to be comfortable.

Overall, I find this to be a very good desk chair. Our office is filled with them, and they are holding up well.

Short and sweet: I'm pretty stocky, over 300lbs, and I've worn out chairs left and right including a Sealy that cost the same price. I found this chair sitting unused at work last year and started using it, and it is still solid as a rock, comfortable and supportive. So, I bought one for my home office. Couldn't be happier! The base is heavy metal, not cheap plastic, and the seat deck is real leather and wide enough for even me, lol. The lumbar and the arm rests are adjustable in height also. Well built, well done. I shopped around for several days, and Amazon came in the lowest with free shippping, can't be beat!

I've searched and searched and have actually purchased 4 different "Office/Task" chairs and even a Task "stool" (which obviously raised high enough but lacked any adjustments and was not very comfortable) looking for something that would raise high enough for me to sit at my beautiful Bush work-center and have the desk be at my waist instead of my chest... then I found this "Managers" chair... and... I love that I can be Captain & Commander for you GTD enthusiasts out there... it is amazing how much it helped me to focus on my work instead of my chair... that said.. the chair raises to 23" at the top of seat cushion (20" at bottom of seat frame) so although only my toes touch the floor (and I can easily glide around) I usually keep my feet on the leg base... The Seat itself is WIDE so the arms could be closer to me but... hey... it works... the CASTERS are the best I've seen (possibly geared for carpet and since they're larger than standard I think this added to the perfect height... previously chairs purchased ranged in price from $129 to $249 .... hope this helps someone...

After looking at what seemed like 100 reviews for various chairs, I settled on this one mostly because of the reviews. I really hate buying furniture online and true to form, the chair was defective (the cylinder did not move up and down). The company sent me a replacement about a week later. After a great struggle I was unable to remove the original cylinder which necessitated replacement of another part ( and another week wait) in order to reattach the cylinder. Finally got it to work, but at this point felt it the whole thing was more trouble than it was worth.

The reason for the purchase in the first place is a weak lower back. The seat is comfortable, but he back is not adjustable, and does not provide enough support for me.

The overall design is rather clumsy, not exactly sleek. The back feels oversized, and the arms superfluous. I guess you get what you pay for.

First thing's first. The product description doesn't really talk about this, but the chair's structure (base, lift and undercarriage) is all nice heavy metal. The product feels sturdy and solid.

Next, this thing was so easy to put together. The instructions are easy to follow. But I could probably have put it together without the instructions. It comes with an allen wrench, which is all you need.

Assembly note: when you get to the part where you attach the chair's back to the seat, you may want another person there to help. But, if you're doing this all solo (like I did), no worries. Just have a table or a stool nearby to hold the seat upside down. You're going to need every hand you've got to suspend the seat back while you put the first screw in. After that, it's no challenge.

In all, it took me 15-20 minutes to completely assemble this chair by myself. No problems at all.

Now, as for the chair's comfort: I suffer from a condition that mimics rheumatoid arthritis and I'm also recovering from a back injury that resulted in a herniated disc. I needed a comfortable, supportive chair that would serve me for hours at a time while I worked in my art studio. This. Chair. Is. Perfect. The lumbar support easily slides into place and stays put. The awesome thing is that I don't notice the lumbar support while I'm sitting in the chair. But when I stand up, I feel better than I do after sitting in any other chair in my house. The actual seat is very comfortable. I like that when I lean back, the seat and the back to not stay at a right angle.

The operation of the chair (lift and lean) is standard. So if you've ever operated a decent desk chair with a locking lever, then you can operate this one.
