5.0 out of 5 stars Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong, November 28, 2002
This review is from: An Officer And A Gentleman: Original Soundtrack From The Paramount Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This is a superb CD and my favorite track is the main title theme. I feel that it is an inspiring, romantic, uplifting song that should be played after an extraordinary accomplishment, weather it be in romance, school, or whatever it is that you have accomplished. The second track, "Up Where We Belong", is a wonderful romantic song. I also enjoy ZZ Top's "Tush", and the song after that, called "Treat Me Right". I think track #8 is very romantic and soothing. My only complaint is that they should have had the last track be the ending of the film, because the title theme is played a little bit differently and more elongated during the ending. Oh, well. It's still the best movie soundtrack I can think of. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Ending, November 8, 1998
This review is from: An Officer And A Gentleman: Original Soundtrack From The Paramount Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This is one of the greats. The main theme to An Officer and a Gentleman should be played at the ending of every phase of life. It should be played at weddings, graduations, and funerals. The strumming of the guitar seems to sum of up the grandness and self-satisfaction one feels when leaving behind a grand accomplishment and going on to bigger and better things. I plan to play this when I leave High School. In a way High School can be as difficult as the Officer's Training Program Zack Mayo goes through in the film. -Frank

That's got to be a duet performed by Jennifer Warnes and Joe Cocker called "Up Where We Belong". From my Joe Cocker anthology [BOX SET] two double-disc collection I only just have on CD. Mostly the rest of these tunes on this movie soundtrack are just not suitable for anything here to my taste of music listening enjoyment instead forget it!
