An Officer and a Lady... indeed!,

This review is from: An Officer and a Lady and Other Stories (Stout, Rex) (Paperback)
i have been a Rex Stout fan for years but found my interest waning in Archie Goodwin's sarcasm and Nero Wolfe's pettishness. So i tried 2 different books: Under the Andes which is AWFUL and htis book which was surprisingly DELIGHTFUL! Several short stories, carefully written, with a twist in each one. They have a hint of O. Henry's influence possibly? i would highly recommend it to anyone who likes short stories, surprise endings, or just simple stories of humanity.

This review is from: An Officer and a Lady and Other Stories (Hardcover)
The sexes battle, the mind feuds with emotions it cannot control and crime exhorts and strikes and kills but it does not pay in this collection of sixteen short stories by Rex Stout at the outset of his celebrated career in mystery and suspense.
