When my 4.5 yr. old tried this costume on for the first time, she looked at herself in the mirror and said "I look fabulous!". And she did. She even won a prize at the local community center Halloween event. I had my doubts about how well the tulle at the bottom would hold up, but it's still in perfect condition after multiple wearings. It's also surprisingly comfortable for my daughter to move around and play in.
I was on the fence about which size to order as my daughter wears anything between a 4T to a size 5. I ended up choosing the toddler size (2T-4T) instead of the size 4-6 and I'm glad I did. She is 38 lbs. and 42" tall and the costume fit her just right. Unless you have a very tall toddler, those fins are going to be dragging the ground.
My only complaint about this costume is that the green sparkly section of the tail is very thin. If my daughter is wearing printed underwear, I can clearly see the pattern underneath and if there's light behind her, I can see her legs. Our weather is pretty cool in late October so I layered a purple leotard and tights underneath, which did help. But overall we are very happy with the outfit.

I shopped for days for a mermaid costume. This was so pretty on-line and just as pretty when you get it home. My daughter is 3 and we got the 2T-4T. It is a little big but she is really petite. It is really long as well so I had to pin it at the waist. I don't mind though because it just means she can play dress-up with it longer.
The details of the costume are really nice and it is made well. Lasted a week before Halloween, thru Halloween and she is even wearing it now. She was the cutest mermaid on the block. Really happy with this costume.

This is a great costume - especially for the price (shipping was a bit high). It's very sparkly, the fish tail is full and swirly so it really looks like a fish tail. My daughter LOVES it. 2T-4T is a pretty big range, so on my 35th percentile 2.5 year old it's very long, and a little roomy. But it will be easy to pin up, the bodice is snug enough to stay on, and we will be able to wear it for a few years. The other costumes either cost 2-3 times as much and/or looked cheap or more like a dress than a mermaid. Very happy with it.
