One of 1998's most eagerly anticipated games and sequel to 1997's role-playing game (RPG) of the year, Fallout 2 is a postapocalyptic adventure set in the radiation-ravaged northern wastes of California. As the Chosen One of your village, you must find and retrieve the holy GECK (Garden of Eden Construction Kit) so that you can save your people from suffering. This Sybex guide, written by one of the game's lead designers, is an exhaustive resource that will help prospective Chosen Ones as they journey through the wastelands. The book begins with a section on survival strategies, covering such topics as player character creation, basic combat skills and tactics, and the fluctuating values of town reputation and karma. Other sections of the book include a complete listing of the game's many monsters and nonplayer characters. Weapons and armor are described in detail, as are the many other useful objects you may encounter on your journey.

As with any good RPG strategy guide, this one includes complete walk-throughs for each stage of the game. One of the book's most appealing qualities, however, is that you can glean a ton of useful information without ever resorting to these--and without spoiling key elements of the game's plot. This strategy guide is perfect. It has everything a Fallout player needs. It has descriptions of weapons, armour, non-player characters (NPC's) and more! And the maps are extermly helpful. Some may say it will spoil the game but that's not true, the guide offers you help if your stuck or want a piece of info. You don't have to read the whole guide if you think that will spoil everything. I myself read the whole guide and I think it didn't spoil the game at all. Actually, I think it made the game even more interesting! So for all the Fallout players this is recommended but of course many will want to try beating the game without help but that is nearly impossible because every Fallout player needs help every once in a while.

If you have never played the game, then play it before you buy the book. You will be disappointed if you try to follow the hints in here. For the rest of us who are die-hard fans, this makes for some good reading, but because it came out before the numerous updates, the info in here is not the most accurate. The maps, however, are the biggest thing in its favor, you get to see the entire cities in one view. buy the book only if you are a hard-core fan, otherwise you won't enjoy it quite as much, there are better walkthroughs on the web.

I bought this strategy kinda of weary about if it was gonna ruin the game. It didn't! I'm tellin you friend this book has it all for when your stuck it doesn't give the game at all what it does is guide you. I Highly recemend it to all!!!
