Review

Industry secrets everyone should know. Ignore at your peril.
--Marc Kramer, Forbes.com
Denis Kelly has deconstructed the complicated identity matrix and developed optimal solutions that are easy to understand and implement. He has simplified a complex subject into tangible action items. The Official Identity Theft Prevention Handbook presents a formula that provides consumers the highest likelihood of avoiding identity theft.
--Dr. Abdur Chowdhury, Member of Federal Reserve Advisory Council, and Professor and Chair, Department of Economics, Marquette University
There is a vacuum of credible information and education regarding the prevention of identity theft. After thorough due diligence, we selected Denis Kelly's book as the foundation of the Certified Identity Expert training program as it stands heads-and-shoulders above the competition. This is required reading for all professionals in industries related to identity theft.
-- John Trautman, President, Identity Ambassador Commission
Citing identity theft as America's top-ranked crime concern, a certified expert discusses the weakness of the social security number as a national identifier, identity theft tactics, and victim prevention and mitigation strategies. Appendices include information on the Identity Ambassador Commission, parallels between the identity theft industry and the recent sub-prime mortgage loan meltdown, and a sample cease and desist letter.
--Eithne O'Leyne, Editor, Book News Inc.

I was pleasantly surprised with the depth of this book. Mr. Kelly clearly examines the origination of the modern "identity", the flaws in the system, and the best practices to minimize your exposure. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to truly understand how our identification infrastructure works, and to anyone who wants to ensure their identity is as safe as it can be.

Identity theft, be afraid, be very afraid. This books tells you what to do so you do not suffer from identity theft (every one has, according to the author), and the efforts of organizations on our side.

People are not taking this security seriously. Reportedly an electronics chain sells a $10 reader that can read a passport or some credit cards in a person's pocket from 10 to 20 feet away in an instant. Theft for the lazy thief!

Be sure to get a theft-proof wallet - and don't leave home without it!

The book was okay, but I seriously liked "Identity Theft Manual: Practical Tips, Legal Hints & Other Secrets Revealed" by Jack Nuerm better. For the same price, Nuerm's book is the one to go for!
