Editorial Reviews

This performance is drawn from a concert performed at the Olympic Stadium in Los Angeles in early March 1970. The concert which also included Frank Zappa and Johnny Winter on the bill took place just after the release of the album Mountain Climbing and contains songs such as Mississippi Queen, Never In My Life and For Yasgur's Farm, which featured on the album. The performance also includes Long Red, Blood Of The Sun and Dreams Of Milk And Honey that were stand out tracks from Leslie West's Mountain album from 1969. 2006.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice archival item, November 3, 2006
This review is from: Official Live Mountain Bootleg Series, Vol. 12: Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA, 7 March 1970 (Audio CD)
Great selection, only bothersome thing (and this appears in others of this series) is that the speed is off, and usually fast. Hopefully on subsequent releases they will take more care in production. Mountain was one of the finest bands of the early 1970's. Leslie West's tone was ( and still is) to die for!

4.0 out of 5 stars I Was There!, November 20, 2010
This review is from: Official Live Mountain Bootleg Series, Vol. 12: Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA, 7 March 1970 (Audio CD)
Can't believe someone recorded this! I was there and it was an incredible night. Imagine seeing Mountain, Johnny Winter And w/ Rick Derringer and Edgar Winter (who had not even released his first solo LP yet!) and Frank Zappa with Captain Beefheart (and the incomparable Aynsley Dunbar on drums) together on the same bill! Zappa was touring for Hot Rats and the Captain came out and joined him for Willie the Pimp. Opening band Bigfoot also kicked ass. Gotta have this to hear my 13 year old handclaps!
