With the success of the Nintendo DS, there have been so many different gamers who are now into the use of the WI-FI. However, many gamers have had a very tough time speaking normally into the microphone because of the voice recognition on games like Brain Age, and the Nintendogs series. Thankfully, a new accessory helps you talk easier. This Nintendo DS Headset is easy to use. You place it on your ear, and speak through its microphone. It is easy to use, and works better on games that require the microphone as a tool like in Brain Age, where you have to use voice recognition to speak out words of a color context like blue or red, or in Diddy Kong Racing where you'd have to blow into the microphone to start your hovercraft engine. I really like this because it makes gamers feel more comfortable when playing games that need to use the microphone. This is definitely a great buy for anyone who owns a Nintendo DS. Speak now, and don't stop holding your voice.

My 11-year-old son is way into the new Pokemon Diamond and Pearl games. He plays via wi-fi with his friends and this headset makes it much easier to talk to his friends while playing. Plus, c'mon...for a kid, wearing a headset while paying a game over the net is way cool. A great deal for $9.99, too. If you have a DS Lite and are going to play wi-fi games, get yourself one of these. You won't be sorry!

Fun if you want to chat with a friend while playing. I purchased this as a deal of the day for $6 so i got what i paid for. Hopefully more games will use this headset.

My daughter was very excited to get this as it is compatible with the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl DS Games. Infact, both of my daughters got one so they could play together. Although they look very cute wearing the headsets, they don't like to use them because they hear much better without them or with normal earphones. Additionally, my daughter said you can talk directly into the DS without the headset and it works better. Hope this helps.

I just recently bought this and started using it for when I play. The design sits comfortably on the ear and the sound is wonderful so that you can play without disturbing people; in the end both you and people sitting around you benefit from having it. To be honest I haven't noticed much of a difference when using it to speak to my nintendogs, though overall, when my voice is played back to me, it's a tad sharper and more clear. I'd suggest getting it if you have some extra cash. It's definitely not a necessity, but it's definitely lovely to have.

This is a great buy because:

1. Only major known headset to work on DS series
2. Very cheap right now!

Most of the stuff about the headset is good, but there are a few problems:

1. It can get uncomfortable after a while, mainly because there is only one size.
2. It is ALL PLASTIC COVERING! The LEAST Nintendo could do is bundle it with some type of covering for the ear part!
3. The microphone seems to be too short, but it still works great.

Altogether, I give this product an 8.9/10. I used to have one of these (got it from Walmart though) but I misplaced it (hopefully I will find it soon). I tried it with Pokemon Diamond and played on Wi-Fi, and it performed well. It is also somewhat better to use rather than the normal mic.

Remember, this is the Nintendo Brand Headset. It is probably going to get the best performance on the system.

I give this four stars simply because there are so few games that use it. The ability to talk to another player is only available in Pokemon Pearl or Diamond, and both people have to have the cartridge. There are a handful of games that use voice commands like Nintendogs, I haven't tried it yet. To be honest, I only use mine right now for a headphone, and for that it's mono with only one speaker.

Bottom line: The product is well made and for that I give it 4 stars, but has limited use right now. If your on the fence you have to also weigh in that it's relatively inexpensive so limited use may not be so bad and it is a cool accessory. I think that it will be more useful in the future as more third parties make use of it.

I love this headset, I am able to play a great game with a friend of mine over 3 states. It's cheaper than running up the phone. I think nintendo should make more games compatible with the headset.
