There are times where I do have a whole lot of trouble trying to find the right strategy guide for a great video game. However, I do enjoy current games like the New Super Mario Brothers for the Nintendo DS system, and Nintendo does not only know how to make great games, they also make some of the best strategy guides as well. The New Super Mario Brothers strategy guide from Nintendo is a very well-detailed glimpse of each of the courses and challenges you'll endure as Mario or Luigi, as you uncover over 80 different courses that are just distinctive to classic Mario appeal. The maps for each course are detailed very well, and give you the tidbits on how you can uncover different areas, and how you can defeat Bowser and his onslaught of minions, inorder to save Princess Toadstool from the clutches of evil. If you own this fantastic video game, you arguably are going to need this to guide you to the top.

Let's be honest here, this is Super Mario Bros. The need for a strategy guide isn't very high. However, for some of the moments in the game, it can really help. There's nothing this guide doesn't have for you. It's just as detailed as it can be.

Nintendo Power is known for making fantastic guides to Nintendo games. This is no different. By the flip of the first page, it's easy to see just how detailed this guide really is. Starting off with those game basics that you can actually find in your instruction booklet. There are advanced tips for advanced gamers, but really, this is Super Mario. A game with a style of gameplay so simplistic that a game basics section such as the one provided here isn't needed.

The walkthrough is where the bulk of the guide is. The walkthrough is no different than most Nintendo Power guides. You're provided with a full map of each and every level. On each map you'll see numbers and symbols that correspond accordingly. So if you see a number 7 on the map, look for the number 7 and read the text next to it. It's an easy formula to follow. Some maps, from time to time, get confusing to follow. This mostly occurs when you're told you can go down a certain pipe. The maps are linked together by numbers, and they're not called out in huge font like the numbers are. Still, it's relatively easy to follow.

The walkthrough doesn't lead astray. It's perfectly detailed, but be warned that this is not a walkthrough where you can read the text alone. You'll actually have to look at the maps when using this step by step walkthrough. In order to figure out what they're talking about.

The maps pinpoint out all the items, hidden blocks, switches and just about everything else you can think of. The maps are also drawn to the point where all the symbols don't get in your way. You'll also be able to find all the secret exits using this walkthrough. It also explains how to access world 4 and world 7 (though it isn't clearly pointed out in the walkthrough, it's actually in the section entitled "The World Map").

No stone is left unturned here. It's an easy to follow walkthrough and has all the info you'll need. The quality of some screenshots could've used some work though, as some of them are quite blurry.

Still, for such a simple game, you might not need this guide at all. But it does help in unearthing all those neat secrets, and they all get an explanation too. Including the mini-games. So if you're stuck on New Super Mario Bros. this guide is the best resource you can find.

This is a very tremendous guide. It has all the details for the game like where to get all the gold coins, beat all stages and go to the right route to beat the Bowser in Bowser's Castle. This book has it all. I beat the game completely (including gold coins in each stage). Totally recommended.

I bought this for my wife who loves the game and just couldn't figure out some pieces of the game, like how to get to the two bottom worlds. After she got this she was able to get to them easily as well as find things out about the game she didn't know before. Very well designed and great pics of the levels.

In general, it's good. But not all detailed info is revealed in this guide book.

Love the book! The book tells you things that you just couldn't figure out right away. It tells you how to open worlds 4 and 7, it tells you where to find everything. This is the best players guide I have ever bought.

The player's guide book is a great tip guide for any level. Easy to read and great picture examples.

The book was exactly what I ordered and couldn't find else where. However, the book itself leaves a bit to be desired. Difficult to understand at times.
