5.0 out of 5 stars Of of the best console cases I've ever owned...
Having owned several portable consoles, I have grown accustomed to making compromises when it came to cases. Either the case has room for everything and is way too big/bulky (ex: Nintendo DS G-pak Organizer Black) , or the case form fits perfectly and has no extra room whatsoever. (ex: Logitech PSP PlayGear Pocket - Slim)

I have gone through 4 or 5 cases...

3.0 out of 5 stars Amazon description says for both DSi and DSi XL - but really only for DSi XL (too large for smaller console)
I bought this because it was a good deal, and I needed to get a case for my daughter's new DSi. Amazon's description says that it's a travel case for BOTH the DSi and DSiXL, but the product package itself says it's only for the DSi XL, primarily because it's too large for the DSi. The smaller console would end up moving all around inside the case and not be firmly snug...

This review is from: Official Nintendo Travel Case for DSi and DSi XL - Black (Accessory)

I have gone through 4 or 5 cases specific to the Nintendo DS lite, and DSi. Some being just big enough for the console, almost a sleeve, and some might as well have been a small suitcase. I can however say that this case , the BD&A DSi XL Ultimate Travel Case, is by far my favorite case to date.

This case has a bottom depression with a snug form-fit for the DSi XL to sit in, very securely, but without squishing the console or holding the shoulder buttons down.
A "flap" covers the console depression itself, and can be secured in place by a small velcro strip. This tab has little nylon pockets that will hold up to 8 (eight) Nintendo DS cartridges perfectly. With this flap in place, and secured with the velcro, you can open your case without worrying that the console itself may fall out due to whatever reason.

The big selling point for me is the top half, however. I don't know how they did it, but the top half of this case can easily fit the NDSi (XL) power adapter, 2 normal stylus, the new "pen" stylus, and several small accessories all without putting any strain on the zippers or causing the case to bulge. I currently have my power adapter, a 2-fold game case that holds an additional 4 carts (DSi XL Clean and Protect Kit - Black), and 3 more cases that hold 3 carts each (Nintendo DS Lite Game Card Case). The case still zips with no strain on the zipper at all, and without causing the case to bulge.

Overall, I give this case a strong 5 out of 5.

Pros:
Certified : Nintendo Certified product
Professional quality - Superb craftsmanship, a sturdy, and good looking case
Form fitting - keeps the console snug and safe
Cartridge slots - Holds up to 8 NDS games
Accessory net - Generous space for storing all your NDS accesories

(potential) Cons:
Size - At almost 2" thick, it's not going to fit in your pocket. The length and width are about 1/4" longer/wider than the console itself
Playthrough - This is not a "playthorugh" case, and as such you will need to remove the console each time yoou want to play it

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case!, April 10, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This case is great! It holds the DSI XL snug in the bottom, offers a place for 8 games on the top, they are so easy to get in and out of the holders, it has a place for up to 3 stylus to be held, including the new pen style, and a thick mesh pocket that will hold a regular charger, a car charger and headphones at the same time! It protects the DSI XL very well, its not hard as a rock, but will definitely protect against drops or while traveling. Of course it is bigger than the case I had for my original DSI, but it's not huge, about the size of a thick paperback book. I got the wine color which matches my burgundy DSI XL perfectly. Love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars A New Home For A New DS System, April 26, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
When it has came down to the new Nintendo DSi XL, there haven't been many cases or accessories made for the updated version of Nintendo's newest version of the Nintendo DS family. This case though is definitely one of the better bets. This Ultimate Travel Case for the Nintendo DSi XL is simple and easily convient for you to store the Nintendo DSi XL system. It also works very well for storing several of your favorite Nintendo DS games so you won't have to carry something else around to go with it. The price is definitely right, and well worth the effort. It is definitely one of the better cases and setups for the Nintendo DSi XL, and I absolutely recommend it for its convience and its comfort. It definitely is well-worth the money. I hope there are other ones that just as good as this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case, August 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this for my DSi when I struggled to find a case I liked and it works really well. It's a bit large for the DSi since it's made for the XL but it works fine. I love that there's room for all my games, the power cord, and the extra stylus. The outside of the case is sturdy so everything is well protected. I just finished using it on two different trips and it worked great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best case for the DSi XL, June 13, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

It took a very long time to get the Wine color, almost a month.
But it was totally worth the wait.

This is seriously the best case for an adult DS owner. It's stylish, goes well with Black or Burgundy DSi XLs.
It's roomy. The person who said that it was too cramped for the console was so wrong. It's well protected and snugly fits in the bottom half, while 8 games, plus, my poke-walker, my camera battery charger, my usb flash drive, and some other random pre-order game supplies and charge cable fit in the top.

Totally worth the money. I hate cases that don't hold all my game as well as protect the DS.
This is the quintessential case for this generation DS.

And wine is the best color to get it in!

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!, March 3, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: Official Nintendo Travel Case for DSi and DSi XL - Black (Accessory)
I bought this for my DS Lite. The site suggested it was compatible with both the DSixl as well as the DS lite. The DS lite, being smaller, fits into the DSixl depression, but slides around. Fortunately, the padding designed to keep the XL from being harmed keeps the Lite from being battered even though it slides some.

The case itself has a nylon outer cover, and feels hard; you cannot squeeze it. It almost feels as though there is a plastic lining on the inside. There is a compression on the bottom for the system and a middle flap that folds over it and velcros in place. On the top of the flap are eight slots for DS games; on the top of the inside of the box itself is place for two regular stylus' and one of the new pen stylus'. Right below that is a small netting that goes from side to side and can hold both a wall charger and a car charger. It does NOT bulge when shut and has a zipper tab on both sides so if one breaks the other still works. All in all, I think I give this an A+.

Pros:
- Hard casing. My 2 year old has picked it up and thrown it without damaging anything.
- It is GREAT for travel! It holds 8 games, 3 stylus', all the chargers you need, and the console itself all in a small compact space.
- It holds up to EIGHT games, PLUS the one in the system! This is big for me, because I can never make up my mind on which ones to take. Holding extra stylus' is a major plus for me as well (especially since I have a 2 year old)
- It has two zippers (which is great, because I am known for breaking them).
- It has the Nintento quality guarantee!
- While it is designed to hold the XL, it carries my Lite just fine. It slides a little, but has never harmed it. I like knowing that I can upgrade and will still have room.

Cons:
- It is NOT pocket sized.
- While the Lite fits, there is no optional padding to keep it from sliding around.
- You have to take it out of the case to play (which doesn't bother me, but might bother other people).
- You have to buy a game protector because it is not included.
- There are not game slots on the bottom of the flap (which would have been AMAZING!!!)

All in all, I give it an A+. It suits all my needs just fine. I know there are some other stellar reviews for this product, but thought I would post it for all the DS Lite users out there like me. :)

Great case to store the DSi and ALL the accessories. Everything is in one place and easy to throw into your carry-on for travel or grab running out the door. Glad we bought this one, instead of others (only slightly less expensive) that don't fit the entire system and accessories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Look no further, the perfect case., June 24, 2011
By
Music lover (Burnsville, MN United States) - See all my reviews

My daughters have been playing with their Nintendo DS' for years and I can't count the times we've had to search the house for missing chargers or had to mine the depths of the couch in search of a wayward, postage-stamp sized DS game. They seemed deaf to my pleas that if they were to put things back in their storage cases when they were done, they'd always know where things were. (And make it easier for Dad [me] to find them when he felt like borrowing their system and playing a game.) Flash forward to this year's Fathers Day. I received a Nintendo DS Lite as a gift so now I was in the market for a case so I could follow my own advice. I wanted something that would keep EVERYTHING together in one place - the DS, the charger, extra stylus, and games. The Nintendo DSi XL Travel Case fit the bill perfectly.

The dimensions of this case are 7 ½ inches in length, 5 ¼ in. wide, and 2 ¼ in. thick. (About the size of a thick paperback.) While not a hard-shell case, the exterior (covered in a sturdy, backpack-type material) is quite rigid providing excellent protection for everything inside. The exterior of the clamshell-designed case is very attractive (mine is black) with only a small metal logo of Nintendo's two stacked squares attached so the case is not labeled with any specific version of the DS like some other cases are. It's the most distinguished, adult-looking case I could find among the many cases that I looked at. At first, I was concerned because I owned the DS Lite and the packaging on the case indicated that it was specifically for the larger DSi XL. I didn't want my DS Lite sliding around loosely in there. Oddly, in contradiction to what was said on the front of the packaging, the back listed, the DS Lite, the DSi and the DSi XL with green check marks next to them indicating that the case would work with each model. Sure enough, in the bottom half of the clamshell, they included a removable, foam-rubber frame so my DS Lite fits perfectly and will not move around at all. The bottom half of the clamshell where the DS is stored is separated from the top half by a stiff divider which Velcro's down preventing the DS from falling out when the case is open. The side of the divider facing the top half of the clamshell has storage for 8 DS games. The top half of the clamshell is approximately 1 inch deep and has an elastic pocket with plenty of room for storing the charger, additional games or other accessories. There are also elastic loops for 2 additional styluses' and one for the larger, pen-sized stylus if you have one. What may be a minus for some; there are no straps or handles of any kind on this case. It's not a feature I was looking for so I don't miss not having them. This case was perfect for me and has everything I was looking for. I have no reservations about highly recommending this case to anyone wanting to keep all their DS gear together. A+!!
