Product Description

This is the only official Pomodoro Technique Timer on the market and is the same one used by the creator of the Pomodoro Technique, Francesco Cirillo and his team. On the surface, this timer may seem like any other standard timer. Yes, it has our logo, winds up to 25 minutes, and is the official Pomodoro Technique timer - the same one used by the Pomodoro Team. However, what's so special about this particular timer is that it allows us to do many things. We invest the proceeds in Pomodoro meet-ups, initiatives, and to promote the use of the Technique in schools. So, this Pomodoro Timer isn't just another timer... It's also a nice way to support these and other activities of the Pomodoro Technique Team.

Pretty low quality, not worth the cost. We bought 2 and used both about twice,,,one stopped ringing and the other doesn't ring at the right time. :( Bummer...

I read the reviews about how fragile this thing was. They warned me not to buy one, But I wanted one. So I bought it anyway.
Second time I used it, it broke. And it is irreparable. So, my advice is do not buy or use with gentle, gentle care.

noisy - i thought that a 30 minute timer would be a good idea - but it makes so much racket that i put it way across the room. a nuisance - use the timer on your smart phone, it's quiet and cheaper.

Like other reviewers have noted, the pomodoro timer is smaller than you expect. The timer only goes to 25 minutes, the time of a pomodoro, so it can't be used for other purposes that require a longer time. I can't keep the pomodoro timer in the room with me because the ticking is too distracting for me. For myself, I have been using the Android application instead. However, I have a special needs child that has a difficult time estimating time. This bright red, noisy tool has been helpful for her. Somehow, the ticking doesn't bother her, it seems to soothe her to know that there is time being monitored. She seems to fear working TOO long, and this assures her that there will be an alarm to let her stop her homework. 20-25 minutes seems to be her upper limit for attention these days so this is perfect.

It was cheap. That should have been my first clue. The third time I tried to use it, it simply stopped working. I also noted that it was very loud (both the ticking sound and the bell). If this is really intended to be used by those practicing the Pomodoro Technique, I think it is way too loud. Distracting.

For a company to put out a product that is supposed to be used continuously through the day with this level of engineering is ridiculous. This is a piece of junk with "The Pomodoro Technique" printed on it.

It has two jobs.

1) To be wound through 25 minutes
2) To ring a bell

It managed to achieve this goal for me a massive 4 times before the thin brittle plastic required to achieve (1) fell apart.

I was disappointed to read all the complaints about this timer, so I didn't purchase it. I was sorry to learn this, as the Pomodoro Technique has been working great for me, but I've needed an easier timer and one that didn't ring so loud. I just found the best solution - it's great!! Totally silent (no ticking), and only rings once (softly) when it goes off, so it doesn't getting irritating to others as you use it throughout the day. It's called the "Time Timer", approx. $21, comes different sizes (I'm using the smallest, ie. 3 inch size), and it is sold under Amazon. The timer is designed for students with disabilities, during testing, so there is a visual component to the timer as well as the optional audible ring (on/off switch). What I really love about this timer is it is unobtrusive on my desk, easy to use, and doesn't disturb others in offices nearby as I use it throughout the day. I just found out I can add the Amazon link for the product: Time Timer, 3 Inch.

Oh, well, the tomatoes were a cutesy idea based on an accident. The electronic interval timers are much better suited to actual use of the Pomodoro technique
