This is the ultimate source for soccer rules since they are the ones who wrote them. But this edition does not include there own 1997 law changes which really should be there.

I wanted an accurate updated book of the Official Rules of Soccer and that is, kind of, what I got. Divided into predictable categories such as measurements necessary for the fields of play to be legal and most of what pertains to the game as of the date of publication. FIFA reserves the right to alter some of their own rules as they deemed appropriate and I read this book in one take only to discover that [...] has the latest updates on the same subject. Actually, the internet has several websites that will cover this same information. It is not more than a concise effort to explain the different aspects of this great game. Very useful when in doubt of certain subjects and easy to carry around. Yet, to my opinion, only deserves at most 3.5 Stars. I can not explain what is missing to achieve a higher rating but something about the book leaves you feeling that more detail is missing. For an overall look at the game is acceptable. 3.5 Stars for the book, 5+ Stars for the game that makes the whole world Tremble with Excitement specially now that the 2010 World Cup is rapidly approaching. Long Live Soccer!
