4.0 out of 5 stars Get your daily dose of Scrabble, January 18, 2008

This product isn't going to change anyone's world, but for the true Scrabble-holic, this is a great way to stretch your brain and get your daily dose of Scrabble even when you can't get a game. Using the familiar "Page-a-Day" format, this calendar offers a variety of Scrabble-themed puzzles, including anagramming, finding your best play in a mock game situation, finding the phony word among a list of plausible words, seeing how many shorter words you can find within a word, and so forth. The "find your best play" pages give you point values for "average", "good", and "expert" plays, enabling you to compare yourself to a benchmark. If you're stumped, each page has the solution on the reverse. The calendar format is compact and fits neatly and conveniently on any desk, no matter how small or cluttered. I first received this calendar as a gift about 5 years ago, and have been buying it for myself ever since. I wouldn't think of starting the New Year without it! It's an oasis of Scrabble in my workday - a little diversion that any word geek is sure to enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Challenging daily puzzles, March 13, 2004
What an excellent calendar! There's a nice variety of puzzles so I never get bored. But watch out - some of these are real stumpers! This calendar challenges me, and I play Scrabble almost daily. Definitely stay away if you've only a passing interest in the game.
