About the Author

Cindy Hooper is a freelance writer, born and raised in North Carolina. She lives somewhere in New England with her husband, Rick, four cats, two dogs, and a guinea pig.

She has written and published country humor, comedy material, parody songs, and short stories throughout the years, as well as a couple of magazine articles of the serious nature. Collaborating with her older sister, Ann, under the pen name The Rickett Sisters, they self-published a redneck poetry booklet in 1989 entitled "Pass Them Collards, Pleeze: A Collection of Redneck Poetry". Several newspaper articles have been written about them regarding their southern humor. Cindy’s "Collard Greens Song" was the theme song for the 1993 Ayden, North Carolina, Collard Greens Festival. It was also played on several radio stations down south. Additionally, she has written a few parody songs that were played on radio stations in Connecticut and North Carolina.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Official Secretary's Guide to Sanity and Survival, December 2, 2001

Cindy holds back no words when describing her actual life experiences working in offices as a secretary.
Witty and humorous, you can actually read about all the personalities in an office and be able to match some of your coworkers and bosses with Cindy's descriptions.
I really enjoyed reading this book, we've all been in Cindy's position at one time or another.
A must read book.

Thank you Cindy for finally puting in words what all of us secretaries have been puting up with "since the dawn of time". This book is for anyone with a sense of humor. Anyone that has had a job or even heard of anyone having a job should get this wickedly hilarious book!!! Can't wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Office workers can relate to this book!, October 18, 2001

If you've ever worked in an office, chances are you may have worked under the clenches of such bosses as "The Redneck Boss" or "The Tyrant Boss" or maybe even "The Lecher Boss". You could have also had the misfortune of working with coworkers as "The Backstabber," or "Telephone Tina" or even "Nosey Nellie" but whatever the case, Cindy has taken those characters and turned them as well as any type of bad job experience into a book filled with laugh-out-loud humor. I highly-recommend anyone looking for a good laugh, to buy this book.
