Great!,

Right from the horse's mouth! This is how the AK-47 is to be cared for in all conditions. However, it focuses too much on how to use it in combat conditions, which most of us don't need to use except for historical value...

AKM Manual,

What can you say about this book except that is it is the most complete guide of the famous or infamous rifles the AKM. It is a must for any body that would like to know information about the AKM rifles and find out why they are one of the most wide used rifles in the world.

This is the one to buy!,

I have a number of different manuals for the Kalashnikov assault rifle and The Official Soviet AKM Manual is the best. It is very complete and Paladin Press has done an excellent job of producing the book with nice printing and clear illustrations. It has the usual instructions for disassembly and assembly one would expect it to have as an operator's manual. What makes this book especially good, however, is the other stuff that goes with the "usual instructions". There is a short history of the rifle and its creator Mikhail Kalashnikov. There are detailed illustrations of the various parts and accessories. There is a well illustrated explanation of how the action works and instructions on sighting in the AKM. Probably the most interesting feature is the sections that deal with firing the rifle in combat. While most of us are highly unlikely to ever use one of these rifles in a tactical situation, it is still interesting to read about how the Russians do it.

If you own an AK type rifle this book is great. Basically a military manual on the weapon andd it's accessories. Not alot of the gun's specifics though. For example, the M-16/M-4 rifle manuals would tell you muzzle velocity, maximum range, etc. That's the only information I would have like to have seen added. That's about the only thing missing here.
