A helping hand, May 10, 2008
This review is from: The Official Strategy Guide for Nancy Drew: Secret of the Old Clock (Paperback)
I really enjoyed having this guide. I pulled it out whenever I got stuck. Sometimes I was ahead of the game and needed to back track. If it wasn't for this guide then I would have been running around in circles. I have trouble more then others, so if you are very good at playing games and only need help every now and then this might not be for you. But if you are like me, getting stuck often, then this is the best tool ever.

What should be in the inner left-hand side of the game case., January 26, 2008
This review is from: The Official Strategy Guide for Nancy Drew: Secret of the Old Clock (Paperback)
My wife enjoys the "Nancy Drew-PC Games" because they're fun and are pretty much for all ages.
During the holiday season of '07 ,i thought that an official strategy guide for one of Drew's newest games would be a nice gift-add on,well
to my suprise when the guide did arrive, i seriously thought that it was
some kind of mix up or a really bad joke.
These "SO CALLED" Official Strategy Guides are nothing more than the size
of an instuction manual that usually comes packed with any console or PC
game......seriously. Now to turn around and take these from the inside left hand slot of the inside of the game case and sell them seperately for
$10 + the cost of shipping is just plain ol'e WRONG!!!! These guides like
I've mentioned are the same exact size as an instuction/user's manual with
Less or equal pages, thier printed in Black and White and really should be
included with the product. There are *FREE* Full Strategy Guides on the Web. The Author/Arthor's should be ASHAMED for charging for what should come with each Nancy Drew game. Think I'm just mouthing off..well the next
time ( or check for one you already own) you purchase a nancy drew game, check the inside and you'll find that the only thing you've bought was the
game with an empty (LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE CASE) where usually an instruction or players manual should be.........FOR SHAME!!!!!!!!!

More like a walkthrough book, December 16, 2009
This review is from: The Official Strategy Guide for Nancy Drew: Secret of the Old Clock (Paperback)
This book came with my game for free, so I used it after I had completed the game to go back and play it with the guide. The guide basically tells you step-by-step what to do, but it doesn't tell who the culprit is. It is also written in a way to make it interesting, and to make you think that maybe she did it. No he did it! No her! Yes, it is short (32 pages), but I don't agree with the reviewer who said it should be included with every game. Yes, I got this with a game, but putting it with every game would defeat the purpose of solving the game on your own. It probably shouldn't be $10, but if you have an extra $2-$3, and you can find the guide for that, buy it! It actually adds to the replay factor. However, it isn't quite clear about what to do with some of the steps, but at these points try to figure it out yourself! It will help those who have a little difficulty solving puzzles, and it will add to the fun of replay!
