A game this intricate sometimes needs a little help (in case you get stuck). The photos of the scenes on the monitor are small, black & white and sometimes a little too dark. The print is small. The price is definitely for the information. It is more cost effective to buy the guide as a set with the game software.

If you like walking your way to the end of a game with Nancy Drew as your Partner then I suggest you get this game, and the guide! The game is a little more challenging than the last several put out so be prepared to take along the hadny dandy Official Stategy Guide! This guide has everything in it from clues to pictures, but NOT the ENDING, that's right everyone! Our friends at Her Interactive does us a big favor by NOT giving away the ending so that We can figure out that part on our own! So I give this guide a Big Thumbs Up!

In addition to the poor picture quality already mentioned by another reviewer, this strategy guide isn't really necessary. The game, itself, has a "hint" feature built in that answers most of the problems you're likely to run into.

The "guide" is also missing some key pieces of information. For example:
* What do you do when you need to get the snowshoes but can't trigger the right responses from the characters?
* How do you solve the fourth pyramid level?
* What does "Trapper Dan's Journal" say? (The book tells you how to decode it, but the writing in the journal is so "scribbled" you can't make out the characters on the TV screen.)
* Where are all of the missing picture pieces?
* Strategies for winning at "Fox and Geese".

Help can be found online at www.herinteractive.com (including the answers to the first three issues I mentioned) so you don't really need the book.
