As an SAT tutor, I was looking for something to offer my students and to provide explanations for the College Board's Study Guide. I was disappointed. Many explanations, especially in the criting reading and writing, are too brief and are vague and insufficient. I'm left still wondering, "why"? I wouldn't spend the money again on this product. I think doing the College Board's online course, which I believe offers explanations, would have been better.

I had the Official SAT Guide, and couldn't solve a lot of the problems. This explained things clearly and it also showed the best way to solve all the math problems too. Some other guys have a book like this too, but the explanations are really long and not very clear. After I used this, I got a 2240 on the SAT, and I just got in early admissions to Stanford!!!! Go Seniors '08!

Don't be fooled by what "Stu Dent" was talking about. This isn't some "random guy" from California but a well trained SAT teacher of six years, and it clearly shows in the book. He obviously failed to say that he didn't read this book enough to have a complete understanding of it.

It's been a pain for me to search for the solutions online and some aren't even on there. This book makes studying for the SAT much easier and efficient.

I don't know what "Stu Dent" is talking about. I just purchased a copy of this book for my daughter. It has clear, simple explanations for all the problems. College Board has an online course for $69.95 which we also paid for, and the explanations are awful. Moreover, you have to be logged in to read the explanations online. This book, at less than half the price of $69.95 is an outstanding product.

This book is outdated. It was designed for an old edition of the
Official SAT Study Guide; the current edition, the 2nd edition, has
different tests.

When I got the College Board's SAT Study Guide, it just had the letters of the answers but didn't explain how to solve. This book was really useful.

This book has the worst explanations i have even seen. They are literally one sentence explanations. What a complete waste of $$$. This book is garbage. Trash. If you are reading this, you have to believe me. This is my first time writing a review. I usually don't because I don't care enough to. But I'm trying to help you all out there. Don't waste your money on this. Buy Testmasters and KlassTutoring. They're are 10X better. They give LONG and THOROUGH explanations.

Hello! I had read a full page story in the San Francisco Chronicle about the author and the book. My grandson is taking the SAT in May. He lives on the East Coast. I bought the book on Amazon.com and it arrived. He looked through it and realized that in order to fully utilize the benefits of the book, he would need the Practice SAT tests which did not come with the book, so his father (my son) and Matthew went to the library and borrowed the "tests." I would have bought the practice tests for him if I had known they were necessary.

This isn't even Official, it's made by some random guy in Cali. Most of this stuff is available online for free. I'm happy I didn't buy this with own money. A rip off.
