Just because it has the answers explained does not mean it should be this expensive.

By the way, the huge SAT book with all the subject tests comprises of one math 1 and one math 2 test already provided in this book.
iknowu2
This book is written by the test makers and matches the actual difficulty of the real test.

I am a Math Professor, SAT Math tutor, and author of the GET 800 series of SAT prep books (such as "320 SAT Math Problems" and the "28 SAT Math Lessons" series).

I have been tutoring SAT Math for over 10 years. If you are taking an SAT Math Subject test, then you should get this book for the practice tests. It's certainly not enough, and I wish the College Board included more tests in this book, but this is what exists so I guess we have to deal with it. When I tutor for the Subject Tests I use this book for the practice tests, and for day to day preparation I use a combination of my own Advanced Course 28 Lessons book (for advanced SAT specific strategies) and The Princeton Review's book (for questions on the additional topics not included in SAT materials). Although The Princeton Review is not ideal, it gets closer to College Board questions than other test prep companies. Eventually I plan to write my own book for the SAT Math Subject Tests, but for now I am able to get most students an 800 on the Level 2 test using these materials. Here are a few tips for those of you taking one of the SAT Math Subject Tests:

(1) Make sure you take an actual Level 1 and Level 2 test under timed conditions before deciding which one to take. Even though you may feel like you're doing awful on the Level 2 test, your scaled score may come out much higher than you think. The curve is MUCH more generous on the Level 2 test than it is on the Level 1 test.

(2) If you are preparing for the SAT, then I recommend taking the Math Subject test the month after you take the SAT. There is some overlap between the Math sections of the regular SAT and the Subject tests. So don't give yourself time to forget all the strategies you've been practicing for the regular SAT.

I ordered the book expecting a review from the people that actually made the test. It's basically just a few practice questions and then the two tests for each level. It's a very thin book and most of it is the tests. It might be a good book for some people just for exam questions but other than that it's not really a review.

It wasn't good for review, but really good because it has two OFFCIAL math IIC tests. I used Barron's for review and used both of these practice tests (answers and explanations in the back) to score a 790 on the real exam.

Unfortunately, this book only has two practice tests. It is really tough to adequately prepare for this exam with so few problems. I recommend Barron's book instead.

The new Math Level 1 and 2 Book is not too bad. However, it is overpriced. This book is the same price as the SAT book with all the Subjects. Just because it has the answers explained does not mean it should be this expensive. I recommend buying from Amazon, since they significantly lower the price by about 30%.

I took the Level 2, so I do not know what the Level 1 was like. In actuality it only has one test for each; the second one they give is in the old SAT Subject Tests book (the one that's Red, white and blue).

This is a good supplement to Barron's. I took Math Level 2 the first time in October for a score of 720, then retook it in December and got 800 with this book and Barron's.

This book is great if you need self-confidence.

In fact, the real tests are much easier than in any other preparation textbook I've used (Barron's, Kaplan, Princeton, etc). However, it's certainly not enough to ace the SAT.

I advise you to first work on "hard" tests. Even if they are not similar, they still give a very stable amount of knowledge. Then, pass the ones in this book only to have a good idea of what to expect on the actual exam. A month or two depending on your math level will allow you to prepare.

The content of this book is exactly identical to the official guide to all subject tests. Little did I know I'd be burning money by buying this. While it does contain an extra test for each paper, it is hardly worth the money.

Better to get the Barron's or Kaplan books rather than the College Board stuff.

In preparation for the SAT Math Level 2 Subject Test, I bought this tool in expectation of 2 practice tests that were different from the practice test already available in the "Official Study Guide for ALL SAT Subject Tests". Unfortunately, I was dissapointed.

Although the book advertises 2 practice tests for both the Level 1 and Level 2 exams, it does not say that one of each is the exact same as the one available in the Official Study Guide for All SAT Subject Tests. Since I already had purchased the latter book, I essentially only received one practice test.
