I just got this case, and as far as I can tell it seems pretty nice. The front flap DOES have a microfiber lining to protect the screen, and when folded open it provides some traction for your fingers. It is very lightweight and doesn't add a lot of bulk or weight to the tablet at all; I like slim. It clasps onto the tablet easily and securely, but it is easy to take off if you need to swap the microSD card. The back of the case also gives some traction, with a slightly rubberized feel. The plastic backing of the case seems durable enough. Magnets in the front flap hold the case flap in its two stand positions when folded, and it holds the tablet just fine in those positions. Cutouts are all good. I also like that closing the front flap puts the tablet into sleep mode, and opening it wakes the tablet up - just like the pricey Kindle covers (which is, overall, what this one reminds me of).

My only dislike is that it doesn't have a magnetic closure to keep the front flap closed when not in use, but that's not tremendous deal, just a minor ding.

It's a pricey case for an inexpensive tablet, but I consider the plastic backing to be a weak spot in the tablet. This fixes that, and it looks good, too. Also, I wanted a black tablet, but the closest that the MeMo comes is the dark blue; with this case on there it is for all intents and purposes black (I ordered the black one, of course). I am confident that it will do a perfectly fine job of protecting the tablet - which is the primary purpose of a case, of course. Any case that looks good while protecting the tablet gets a thumbs up from me.

So I looked long and hard for a cover for my new ASUS tablet. My criteria were that it had to be relatively "low profile" since I REALLY didn't want to add bulk or weight to the tablet and it had to fit well. I searched for a while, in stores and online. I know one issue is that this particular tablet is not very widespread in its distribution so finding a multitude of examples was pretty difficult. In the end I decided to just 'splurge' and get the ASUS cover. It was a little more expensive than I wanted to spend but I figured it would hit all my needs. Overall it has however there are a couple little 'nuances' that take away from the total package and made me downgrade its rating. I was VERY pleased with the way it fit the tablet. Snapped right on and everything falls exactly where it should. The speakers, camera and controls are all perfectly clear. It has taken a little getting used to the feel of the side buttons but I am sure this change will go away over time.

Where I am having a little issue is how the cover "flops" over and the fold-able creased areas. When the top is "wrapped" around the table the spine seems to be too narrow to hold it in-place. Basically if I am holding the cover completely "open" it doesn't stay square with the tablet, it hangs down just a tiny bit. The problem is I noticed it and now I notice it ALL the time and have found that I try to hold it up. I am sure if they just extended the length of the spine or maybe its thickness just a tiny bit it wouldn't move as much. It could just be me too. The other area that bugged be a little is something others have pointed out. If you fold the cover to sit the tablet up at an angle it doesn't feel like it will flatten out completely.

Honestly, I was apprehensive of this case, mostly because of the price. $30 seemed a bit steep for a piece of plastic. Glad I shoveled out some extra cash. If you are going to buy a case for your Memo Pad, this is what you want. Its slim, non-obtrusive, and (if you enable it in the settings) opening and closing the front flap will power your screen on or off. The positions that the case has are perfect, and the materials are very very nice. Trust me, this is $30 well spent, a truly excellent accessory for your tablet!

Looks good and makes your memopad look cooler and gives great protection.

2 provisos:
The magnetic strips in the cover occasionally activate the memopad and I regularly find the tablet drained of power while I leave it in my backpack.

The cover does NOT stay flush with the screen. A bit like having a book with dog ears...

So, I'm an IT pro, and the only reason that I got this budget Android tablet is to test it against our organization's Exchange server and security requirements without spending premium buckazoids for a Xoom or some such. Turns out, I love the thing. Great display, responsive, handy, all kinds of useful apps, meets, or exceeds our standards, blah, blah, blah. This isn't (competely) about the MeMo, it's about the TransCover.

I wasn't crazy about spending over $30 USD for any case for the thing, really, but like it or not, unless you want crazy scratches and cracks (especially on this plastic-heavy thing,) then you need a case of some sort. I looked at some cool leather ones, some hardened metal and plastic ones. I probably spent way too much time on a stupid case. However,...this turned out to be the right choice, and I'm glad that I went the extra step to check it out when I almost settled for soem Belkin POS.

Down to it then - the case fits perfectly. The device snaps right in, leaving all but the SD card slot available. The flexible bits that cover the power button and volume rockers line right up - despite other reports, I've had no trouble getting the buttons to work with this case. The speaker grille lines up just right, and doesn't obscure the sound at all. Headphone and power jacks are open. The thing was literally made to fit this tablet, and it does. The stand angles are just right for setting on your desk to have as a clock/Netflix gadget, or flipping over and doing some actual typing (or, as much actual typing as you can do on a 7" screen, but that's a different subject.)

Also, the thing is slim. It adds negligible size or weight to the MeMo, so that's cool. I hate cases that take all of the cool slimness away for protection's sake.
