Makes ya' wanna do head spins!,
This review is from: The Official UK Breakdance Championship [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Representing the second most under-rated element of Hip-Hop ( the first being Graf Art ), The Official UK Breakdancing Championship delivers in spades. This video not only shows the heated nature of true hip-hop ( in the same way MC's and Dj's battle, and Graf heads compete to be kings ), it shows B-Boying is alive and thriving, not just within the confines of America, but across the globe. The camera work, quick as it is, capture all the movements of the various crews, though admittedly this approach seems akward at first. There is enough moments of amazing acrobatic feats that would make any hip-hopper get up off their chairs and say "OOOOOHHHH! ", yet this video is far from perfect. The music is dubbed over ( rather than use the original from the championship ), and it leaves something to be desired. And the battle between Germany and Denmark ,as it neared the end, starts to become over-stretched and tedious. I would have given this a solid Three stars, but I had to add another for that AMAZING battle between Japan and the U.S. ( a battle so furious that even the DJ exclaims "now THAT was a BATTLE! "-- also, peep veteran B-boy Crazy Legs and others on stage as they themselves are amazed at the incredible exchange of body rockin' moves ). At any rate, walk, don't run, and get yourself a copy of The Official UK Breakdance Championship, a worthy addition to any Hip-Hop collection.

Break Dance Championship,

This video was good because it represnts the true essence of Hip Hop culture. To address the issue of the quick camera angles, I felt it added rhythm to the music. All B.Boy video's are not for one to mimic break dance moves. These b.boys have been doing it for a while and to see the progression in technique is a pleasure all its own. For all you b.boys out there that are looking for a good video with good quality resolution and fat beats, this tape is for you. This review is coming straight from New York City, check it out, PEACE.

The Official UK Breakdance Championship,

This video is a great gift for every breakdancer. The only bad thing about the video is the cameras switching views, but you'll get used to it after a while. You are going to be saying, "OHH", everytime someone dose a really good move. The music is really good to break to. After the video is done you just want to breakdance and try some moves like the baby, headspins, windmills, and some flares!

Breakers' Delight,

This was pretty good. The previously mentioned fast cuts by the camera are present, but not as distracting or head ache inducing as made out to be by some. The music seems dubbed, but most of it is pretty good(old skool beats/scratching), but some of it doesn't fit in with the actual stuff going on onstage. As for the breakin', mostly amazing! Long sustained headspins, windmills, even some pop lockin'. The tape breaks down to crews showing their stuff in team segments, 2 battles between 2 teams, and a freestyle segment with individuals struttin' their stuff. You'll definitely find a crew or breaker here that you'll really like(the team from Denmark comes to mind)! Overall, very good. Buy it here as the price is comparable to most other places. The video has ads for other Manga releases too.

I ordered this video, despite the harsh review about the camera angles. Its really not all that bad, you get used to the flipping after a while, its still easy to see whats going on. Just keep in mind you just cant learn how to breakdance from this video! Just enjoy it! Its got the best breakers from all around the world.

Good video!,

Yo - this is one of the better breakdance videos out there. Yeah, the camera cuts are a little annoying at first, but you get used to it after a while. There is some pretty dope breaking in this video with some phat crews like Spartanic Rockers, Style Elements, Second 2 None, etc. Good breaking videos are hard to find - this one is definitely worth checking out, yo.

This video has some great moves in it, but there are so many camera angle changes that you can barely tell what's going on. Sometimes there are several changes per second. It's extremely annoying. I would say don't bother with this video and instead get something else.

I bought this video for my husband and 2 boys and well to be honest the cameras (the people who recorded this) were moving all the time that it was giving us a headache. My opinion would be if you "really" want to learn/see breakdancing then get it but it isn't worth it. Looks like a dubbed video and mind boggling.
