2.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing!
The first 3 out of 5 guitars I searched for were not listed. Missing certain models of Kay, Dean, Silvertone to mention a few. When I looked for a model of Martin, that model was missing also. I found all of the models in a different price guide. And yes, all of the missing models are vintage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of info, February 23, 2006
This review is from: Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2006 Edition (Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide) (Paperback)
This is an indispensable reference for guitar collectors. That said, it is not perfect, only one tool for basing values. Ebay is the value setter for any collectable since it encompasses a worldwide market. This edition did not accurately reflect the increase in values for some Fender products, for example. Overall, it has a lot of good info on an amazing variety of popular and obscure guitars, basses, amps and effects.

Small black and white photos of guitars appear on every page; but it's the values, notes and company histories which make this price guide so invaluable.

If you love guitars, just buy it as a reference for estimating value or filling in the cracks of your knowledge. I exchanged emails with Gil as he has seen a few of my git-fiddles. A cheap and wise investment!

I have not bought a new version of this pricing guide for some time and was shocked to see how much it has grown. I do wish they would include Sunn amps, heads and cabinets in their next pricing guide.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Book with a lot of Content, January 31, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2006 Edition (Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide) (Paperback)
This book is a good book on guitars, amps, and other guitar assessories. This book is slammed full of most guitars of the past years. Although this book is organized, I found it hard to read and had trouble finding certain guitars once I looked up the brand name. I think they could have done a better job of organizing the guitars within a certain make. That being said, my only other problem with this book is that the binding seemed to be made kind of cheap. It has the feel to it like a book that loses its binding after a short time. I must say that this book is only made to last a year or so, and is priced so that you can purchased the next edition at an affordable price. All in all this is not a bad deal. I like this book and I will use it as I buy and sell used guitars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't Afford Not To Own It!, December 5, 2005
This review is from: Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2006 Edition (Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide) (Paperback)
I've bought the last 3 versions of this book. I made sure Gil signed this current edition for me. Because of this book I have made a small fortune buying and selling old guitars.
Thank you Gil and Alan!

This review is from: Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide 2006 Edition (Official Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide) (Paperback)
Here items from my personal stuff which are NOT listed : -european 1998 DeArmond by Guild M75 & M75T ( high quality Guitars for Europe which were no more produced because of better quality than US Instruments by Guild ... ), Fresher Guitars ( only a little remark, who knows how much a Fresher T-Bird costs ? I know ... ), Fenix Guitars, Dual Showman Cab 2x15 ( Hendrix, Dale & Townsend played it ), limited Epi Guitars ( like the Elvis Signature from 1996 ), Condor Guitars ( very very rare with inbuilt effects like Fresher ). All NOT listed. Disappointed ... Klaus
