All in all, I would buy this controller again. There are a few annoyances, one being that it requires 3 AAA batteries. I read one review here about the R2 and L2 buttons getting stuck, I tried it, and the commenter is correct. If you squeeze down hard on them they can slide up a bit and get stuck in the controller housing. It's easily popped back out, and I honestly have never done that while playing. My other gripe is the analog sticks have a rubber coating, but they're quite slippery. Those points aside, it's still a great controller that has been completely reliable and the analogs have been perfectly accurate for me (that's always risky with 3rd party stuff, licensed or not.) Also, the buttons are a lot more tactile than the Dualshock 2, that controller's buttons were rather mushy. One last aspect worth mentioning is that the controller has a sort of coating on it that makes it nice to the touch and prevents it from becoming slippery. Between this controller and Logitech's wireless controller, it's a bit of a tossup. I like and dislike certain aspects about each one.

Great Improvement over "standard" controller,
This review is from: Officially Licensed PS2 Wireless Controller - Silver (Accessory)
I bought a pair of these for the obvious advantage: no wire. I was pleasantly surprised by the other improvements that I discovered.
The analog control sticks don't have the rubber grips on them. This was an added surprise because the fact that drove me to buy new controllers in the first place was that these grips had worn off and it was annoying. The control sticks are solid plastic with a texture to aid grip. The buttons seem sturdier. Yes, I am a button masher. I have stuck more than one "triangle" key in my day. The directional buttons and the other buttons are much resilient and durable that the "standard" controllers. Another welcome surprise. If you're looking for a comparable controller to the stock ones that come with the PS2, this is definitely worth a look.

Excellent product allows you to sit on your couch or bed while playing the PS2. I have had no trouble parring the device to the console and connection has not yet been interrupted during game play. The end of the receiver lights up blue to tell you that it is connected and functioning, or flashes if it cannot find the controller (ie, before inserting batteries). Additionally the controller has the vibrate on/off buttons to save battery life.

This is an officially licensed Sony product which I didn't know. It works great even from far away. Immediate plug and play no fine tuning. Perfect pressure sensitive button response. I am happy with it.

I bought a set of these "New In Box" off a guy on Ebay. I know they were new because there were no openings on the seams (one of those "sealed like Fort Knox" kinda packages). Anyway I got mine in the mail and opened them up. First thing I noticed was the odd-style D-pad. They tried to combine a circular rocker switch with the "Four Diamonds" style typical of Playstation. I dunno about the rest of you, but I find that style of D-pad to be really uncomfortable, and prefer the classic "Full Cross" from the NES/SNES days.
The D-pad could've been so much easier to use, had the thing actually been one full piece, instead of having that wierd sunken-in "X" You can't really move your thumb in quick circular motions (critical for 2D fighting games) and since there's that empty groove in the middle, you can't do quick Left/Right motions either (well, without feeling like you're gunna break the D-pad). The bottom L/R buttons also feel like they're not very strong, like if you pushed them hard enough or the right way, they might get stuck. The Square, Circle, Triangle, X buttons also feel thicker and harder to push than the stock Dual Shock controllers and the Right Analogue Stick feels looser than the Left one. Negative critique aside, I do applaud them for moving Start / Select to the upper face of the controller, because where they were on the stock Dual Shock made them very hard to access.

I like the silver to match my silver console, and I like the wireless because of keeping the family room a little more tidy. I'm a stickler for keeping things neat, so this really helps. I think the silver is a nice look, adds dimension beyond just the standard black color. I did get one black and one silver though, so when playing head-to-head, they can't get mixed up.
Great quality, response, ergonomics, just as if it was wired.

Gets the job done,
By Eric G. (USA) - See all my reviews

Closest thing I've found to a wireless DualShock on the ps2. Well what can I say about this officially licensed controller? It gets the job done. The controller feels cheap compared to any of the DualShocks, and it takes 3 AAA batteries. The only other problem is with the joysticks. The problem is that the surface is flat and it feels like your thumb might slip off, and also pressing the L3 and/or R3 makes it feel like the batteries might pop out. For your convenience here are my gripes in list form.
Pros: -Works well -Buttons are nice and responsive Cons: -Feels cheap -3 AAA batteries -Flat joysticks(feels like thumb might slip off) If any of these problems is a detractor you might want to look elsewhere for a controller.

It's a gift for my big bro's Christmas present and he said it's awesome! I like it myself with the silver color, the look of the buttons and how big the controller is.
