Offspring's metal-inflected punk became a popular sensation in 1994, selling over four million albums on an independent record label. The Offspring are an American pop-punk band best known for their hits "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)" and "Why Don't You Get a Job?".

Originally called Manic Subsidal, by the time the band had adopted the name 'The Offspring' in 1985 they had already seen a few line-up changes. After the release of the single "Blackball/I'll Be Waiting" and a demo in 1988, they released a limited run of The Offspring (which was finally released in CD format in 1995).
