I own this very same set of canisters in a pure white. Before acquiring this set, I used canisters that did not have the locking lid, but merely a removable top with a seal inside. I was able to try out a display set of these before buying them. I was at first a little reluctant to go for the lock and seal design simply because it is a little more work each time to get whatever it is you have stored out of them. In other words it went from a one handed deal to a two handed process. (Its much easier to hold the base of the canister while you pull and unlock the top). I decided to buy the set anyway for I was so very impressed with the quality of this set. The porcelain on these canisters is very thick and heavy, and everything from the seal to the locking device is top quality. All of the metal, including the heavy duty spoon included with each canister is stainless steel, and will with stand years and years of opening and closing. If I was ever reluctant at first as to be too lazy to use two hands, trust me when I say I am past it now. These canisters are as air tight as they come and keep my coffee, flour, sugar, and tea bags as clean and as fresh as I have ever experienced in a canister system. The other reviewer here that mentioned a misalignment or over tightness in the locking mechanism will be pleased to know that indeed the locking tab and seal do indeed come to fit better together as time goes on. My set is over two years old and still closes very easily air tight, and fits evenly and securely each time. It does get easier and better fitting as time goes on.
One last thing to remember with this set is that you get 4 canisters with nice solid stainless steel spoons for the price. A lot of canisters only give you three, and at a much higher price. I paid the exact same price two years ago Amazon is asking for them now. In my opinion they are not just top quality canisters, but a true bargain as well. They may not be the prettiest canister set you can buy, but they certainly are not ugly either. Absolutely no doubt they are the best I have ever owned. If you desire a heavy quality canister set that actually stores your particulars as fresh as you could ever ask for, and will last you for many years to come, I highly recommend this set. The best in my opinion at a bargain price...

I love this set, it looks great in my red kitchen. The rubber rings lock tight, and the spoon that comes with each container, and fits right on it, is so handy. I don't know how I survived this long, without a set like this. We get a lot of dampness up here in Wisconsin, and I've never had any moisture problems with sugar, brown or white or the flour - they work very well.

The canisters arrived in only 2 days. They are heavy glass and useful sizes. They do not take up too much room on the countertop and the seals are very tight.

oggi canister
i wish i hadn't bought this. i didn't measure right. it's not as tall as i want & can't wash the lids right. the inside of lid is hollow, have to dry to get moisture out.

Canister set
Cheaply made, off-white, not white as stated. I do not plan to use them. They do close well, so they are good for protecting their contents.

This product is cheap!
