I've a had a couple of sets of these canisters for a little over a year now but noticed them on amazon so thought I'd add my thoughts...
The design is great - the recessed handles allow you to easily hold them securely whilst opening/using/closing.
They are a nice weight and thickness of ceramic, and have stainless steel spoons included that fit neatly in a notch on the side of each canister. The lid is sealed by a metal clamp and there is a silicone gasket under the lid to give a good seal. Are they 100% airtight? I'm not sure but I've had no problem with storing baking and coffee products in mine - the contents have remained fresh and good for months at a time.
Out of interest I tried another reviewer's "water-test" - I know I really should have better things to do with my time but what the heck. Anyway, I didn't see any water leaking out - maybe the other guy just needs to make sure the lid is seated properly on the gasket - I guess they are removable for cleaning purposes.

These ceramic canisters have rubber seals that make for airtight storage of sugar, flour, etc. The handles and the stainless steel spoons are very handy features. One note about the color, though - it's not a true red, it has a faint tinge of orange to it. My kitchen has the Kitchenaid shade of red, and these don't exactly match but when not displayed directly next to the true red items, you can't really notice the difference. The sizes are 4 3/4" square base by 5 1/4, 6, 7, and 8" high.

The canisters are cute but be aware that they are small (the largest one isn't big enough to hold a 5 lb bag of flour.) That would be ok, but last night I went to use some sugar and it was hard as a rock. They aren't air tight enough to keep humidity out. I'm switching back to my old canisters.

I would challenge the above reviewers to perform the same test as I and I bet that most if not all of them will have the same problem as me. I have gone through two brand new sets to find out that NONE of the containers are water tight let alone air tight. When I brought them home to clean them in the sink I filled each one up with water and when clasped they ALL leaked, and I am not talking about a drip but a full on stream of water. The gasket was on properly and clean, the failure is in the cheap China made casting as can be seen by the naked eye. Keep shopping!!!!!

Having read several other reviews, I would comment as follows: I don't believe that air tight and water tight are meant to be the same thing. I store baking products - not liquids - in my canisters. They are beautiful and have a seal that is more than adequate. Yes - the color isn't a true red, but it is so close to not even be obvious when next to all of my other red kitchen items, e.g., coffee pot; crock pot; bread box, etc. The handles are wonderful -- I had a previous set that didn't have the handles, and this is a really nice addition. They hold an adequate amount of product, e.g., flour/sugar. Basically - they perform as expected. I will note, however, that I took my sealed canister and submerged it in water -- with no moisture getting into the canister. To me, that's a lot more important than moisture seeping out. FYI, I am a caterer by profession and so I do look for quality products for both my home and business kitchens. I consider these canisters a quality product and recommend them.

I didn't buy them online but I bought this set new at a discount store. My set is white and I love them! They were a little smaller than I anticipated, however, they're the perfect sizes for me! The handles are very convenient for holding them while measuring out sugar and flour with wet hands. They're also stylish enough to leave out on the counter.

I bought these because they looked nice and I liked the color. They do look pretty on my counter. I use them for storing kitchen stuff--not loose sugars; I store Equal packets or drink mix packets; as they are NOT airtight. Would not recommend unless you just want something that looks pretty.

I absolutely adore my new canister set! I love the color,size,shape and quality of the ceramic. The silver spoons and the grip are my favorites. I must say that when the company says "Airtight" they were being very literal. Keeps everything fresh! If you are looking for a new canister set and perhaps in red,this is the one. More than happy.

I payed double the price that I could get the same ones from target just to get the color I needed. When I recieved them I had to take apart the latch mechanisms and bend them around in order to re-align them so they would close properly. They are just fine now. But if you are not mechanically inclined you could have a problem with these. They are very nice but beware of possible quality issues.

I am very happy with my purchase. Not only do they look good, but I'm also impressed with the quality.
