The clip was bent and not centered on the jar. I kept it because I needed it rather quickly, otherwise, I would have sent back and asked for a replacement.

My daughter in law had purchased a set of these (we compete with recipes) and I was impressed (especially with the price and quality); but, I preferred the white exterior. Too many stainless items on the counter already. They have worked out fine. To ensure double moisture and bug protection I place a sheet of plastic wrap (I purchase a 100 foot roll from Costco for many uses in the kitchen during the year) over the container before securing the lid. The container comes with a plastic seal, but I live in the SE and am always trying to keep out humidity. Very satisfied - ended up ordering three sets for the many different types of flours (baking, multi-purpose, whole wheat, etc).
