Good, solid ABC book,

This review is from: Ogres! Ogres! Ogres!: A Feasting Frenzy from A to Z (Library Binding)
This book runs through 26 alliterative ogres, each eating an alphabetic food in a funny way. Interestingly, each ogre eats the food of the *next* ogre down the line - Abednego eats Anchovy Butter, Beulah Blows Bubbles in her Chocolate, all the way down to Zuleika, who Zips through her Asparagus. So maybe it's not the best for teaching letters directly. It's still a fun book, and it does mention many interesting foods, great for picky eaters and non-picky eaters alike :)
Love the artwork, btw - can't get enough of it!

I checked this out at the library, and we loved it so much I bought it. We read it often, and my kids have loved it at all ages going on 10! The names are fun, the ogres cute, the illustrations and hidden art wonderful... Good for learning letters, but an advanced reading level for older kids too. Also can help with trying new foods, that never-ending issue with little ones: we'll pretend we're ogres with silly alliterated names. Very imaginative.
