5.0 out of 5 stars These dreams under my pillow... March 15, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Welcome to a new sound. I first heard this band over a year ago on a blog and I was blown away. To say I've been waiting for this is a bit of an underestimate. Oh Land is female Nanna Řland Fabricius. I think I once read that her instruments were all hand made and she recorded some demos in her bedroom- she's THAT good. Her sound is whimsical meets electronica with a little bit of mystery mixed in. My favorite track on the album is definitely White Nights.

Her voice is just totally unique...and this album ROCKS. If you enjoy Regina Spektor or Shivaree (look her up too) then you will be equally amazed at Oh Land. My favorite tracks are White Nights, Rainbow, Perfection, and Sun of a Gun. Do yourself a favor. If you're bored of the same old sound on the radio listen to these tracks and sit back. Totally different sound!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Album! March 19, 2011
Format:Audio CD
Amazing album! So talented, and you hear it with every song. Her voice is so beautiful, it flows so well. Before you know it, the CD is over!
My favorite songs are:
Voodoo
Human
White Nights
She does remind me of Florence + The Machine. But, her voice is her's, not at all like Florence. Can't wait for another album.

If you only give Oh Land a passing glance, you may be tempted to label her as just another up-and-coming blonde-bombshell pop diva. Although your assessment does not entirely miss the mark (she is a blonde bombshell afterall), her style is much more akin to Bjork or Beth Gibbons (or maybe even Regina Spektor) than the more stereotypical pop acts like Katy Perry or [insert other shameless sellout here]. There is a rich depth and maturity to her sound that can pique the interest of even the most seasoned musician... but the catchy beats will also ensure that her stuff ends up on playlists at dance parties everywhere. If Oh Land is indicative of where mainstream pop is headed, the future looks bright indeed.

This CD was better than I expected. I hope to hear more from this group. There are at least 4 other songs I like besides Son of a Gun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great discovery
It's quite good music, easy to listen to + it has some nice rhythm (not Beyoncé kind of rhythm, but still...not bad)

This is one of my favorite artist. In general, all her songs are not bad at all. Meaning, no harmful lyrics overall, but it all has a message. Read more
