Johnny Bailes was my father in law for several years,,I knew him and his brothers quite well,,,All great men with a calling for God....I was back stage at the opry when they last performed together in the late 80's...All of their songs are from the heart and soul...They also started the Louisana Hay Ride in Shreveport, La. If you enjoy great gospel music with a bluegrass sound,,,then you will love this album and charish it always....

The Bailes Brothers were the start of many country acts that were highly popular in country's formative years. Listening to this somewhat raw and by today's standards primative recordings will reveal where a lot of things we like today began. You will hear some very tight harmony that many "brothers" groups strove to equal in later years. This would be a "do not pass up" for anyone interested in the roots of country music.

This CD is absolutely awesome. I first heard The Bailes Brothers sing in 1948 while I was still in High School and was captivated by their music back then. As I got older, I did not hear much more about them and now that I am in my 70's, I was amazed to find their music on a CD from Amaxon. This CD has 28 selections, every one of them outstanding.
