An absolute must-have..., November 26, 2003
This review is from: Oh Que Dario (Audio CD)
If you were around France or Quebec in the late fifties and early sixties. This compilation contains the hits "Si tu vas a Rio" and "Brigitte Bardot", written as a tie-in for the film "Do you want to dance with me?" in which Dario starred along with BB. I must, however question Amazon's marketing logic for this product. It is imported from France and mostly appeals to American Francophones (i.e. baby-boomers from Quebec) but it is not offered by Amazon.ca, the Canadian branch of Amazon. Which means that as a Canadian living in Ontario wanting a copy for myself and for my brother in Montreal (in time for Christmas), I have to pay the exchange rate on the US$, very stiff (20$US +) shipping fees that don't even guarantee delivery before Xmas, plus custom fees and duties, which should come to a hefty 40 $US per unit (i.e. 60 $CAN). Is it still worth it? For me, yes. But I wish there was another, easier and cheaper way for this product to reach its intended audience...
