4.0 out of 5 stars This is a Pleasant Surprise!, September 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Oh Things Are So Corruptable (Audio CD)
I bought this on a whim, as the sound samples were interesting. I sure got more than I bargained for!

This is of the new groups doing a sort of "modern prog" with a much heavier feel. BUT!!!!!!!!!!! The beauty of We Insist! is that they use dynamics and musical voicing like more mature groups do. The singer is quite unique, and with no disrespect intended in the least, sounds like he's from my area (Missouri) of the world. In fact, his singing is what makes this so attractable/listenable. Also the use of woodwinds is a nice addition to the heavy sound.

This gives hope to a "new sound" while showing musical respect to the past. Thanks WE INSIST!
