Cute, Cute, Cute!!!,

This review is from: Oh, Tucker! (Hardcover)
"Oh, Tucker!" Is a very quick read with large letters and great pictures. The whole story is about calming down this crazy dog who wrecks the house. Any animal-loving child will find it hilarious.

First Grade Library Book,
By Happy Parents (NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Oh, Tucker! (Hardcover)
Our first grader took Oh, Tucker out from the school library his first visit. He carried the book around the house for a solid week and 'tried' to read a page to WHOEVER would listen. A few weeks later he tried to get the book again, he even asked the librarian about it, she is putting a 'hold on it for him.' If this isn't the best testimonial then there isn't one! When a book interests a child this much it has to be good. We are purchasing him his own hardcover.

Mom rates it 2 stars, baby rates it 5,
This review is from: Oh, Tucker! (Hardcover)
I don't know if this book will have staying power, but in our first week of owning it, my 20-month-old daughter has asked me to read it, on average, I'd say 10 times a day. The illustrations are cute but the text is annoying. Tucker is this undisciplined dog who runs through the house knocking into everyone and everything with a "Wham". At the end the family says he's too lovable to scold. The somewhat dubious message gets redeemed for me when my daughter first points at the last picture of the girl hugging the dog, with Tucker's tail wagging furiously (or "whamming" in this case), and laughs, "Tail", then points at the two of them and says with a note of pure delight in her voice, "Happy."If you've got a dog loving toddler, they'd probably enjoy this book. Helpful read-aloud tip: I found it much less annoying to read when I edited out every third "Wham".

A PERFECT DOG STORY!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Oh, Tucker! (Hardcover)
Oh, Tucker! is a splendid children's story. It is a short read, but anyone who has a puppy or a dog can truly relate to this one! I teach first grade and my children LOVE to hear this story. They LOVE to participate in the WHAMS! throughout the story. The illustrations are WONDERFUL. I have put it on my all-time favorite list for children's books.

Tucker, my grand-puppy!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Oh, Tucker! (Hardcover)
This was purchased, basically, because my son's dog is also named Tucker (also known as my grand-puppy) and was given as a gift to him. Coloration aside, this could be my son's dog (his Tucker has black fur) and I found it to be a very engaging story about an excitable dog. All in all, a cute read with great illustrations for children!

my 2-year-old loves this book, but it's annoying,

I couldn't agree with another reviewer's comments more. My 28-month old aabsolutely loves this book. It makes her laugh out loud everytime I say WAHM and explain what Tucker did. However, I have to admit that when she asks for this book, I groan on the inside. The wording is kind of stupid with no real story line. But I read it... and she laughs her head off...

A girl named Thelma called Tucker, her dog, in for breakfast. What happends once the dog is inside will shock you! I like the illustrations that Scott Nash used. If you want to find out what happens you should read this book.Yaslin C

Not much of a story,
By A Customer
This review is from: Oh, Tucker! (Hardcover)
My kids aren't interested in this book anymore. We read it a couple of times and that was it. The story is about a dog who knocks down just about everything in a house (the word 'wham' is used 22 times). Not much of a story, but the illustrations are very cute. This is one of those books that, as a parent, I didn't enjoy reading to my kids.
