5.0 out of 5 stars I can't get enough of this cd!!!
I have been a Paul Brady fan for quite sometime. I've loved just about every avenue his music has taken. 'Oh What A World' is an incredible addition to my collection. My personal favorites on this cd are 'Oh What A World','I Believe in Magic'and 'Travellin' Light.' 3.0 out of 5 stars Try Me One More Time.
I am a long time Paul Brady fan owning all of his solo cds from 1981's "Hard Station" up to his new release "Oh What A World". Brady is master of adult contemporary music but his latest effort, even with the help of many co-writers, falls short. It's a good cd, but I can't help but think about one of Brady's better efforts, 1991's "Trick Or...

I have been a Paul Brady fan for quite sometime. I've loved just about every avenue his music has taken. 'Oh What A World' is an incredible addition to my collection. My personal favorites on this cd are 'Oh What A World','I Believe in Magic'and 'Travellin' Light.' The driving guitar beat on 'Travellin' Light' is perfect for words like 'Rusted wreck by the roadside/And it ain't goin' nowhere/Too much like my life/I wanna get outa here.' You get the sense that he really does want to get out of there. 'Oh What A World' causes me to tap my feet, sway my head and join in when I don't even realize I'm doing it.

His voice is in tip-top form and these songs simply make ya feel good. When I hear it I want to hop in my car and head out across a long highway out west on a sunny day and see where it takes me. I became a PB fan from listening to Bonnie Raitt's Grammy winning 'Luck of the Draw' album for which he wrote the title track and I was a complete convert. He is one of the most sophisticated and lyrically solid artists that I've ever listened to. His sense of melody is always so perfect (on ballads and up-tempos) and he writes mature songs. His previous albums are great too.

If you're looking for a fantastic addition to your Paul Brady collection or if you are interested in discovering an absolute master of 'tunesmithing', you've got to check out 'Oh What A World'. You won't be sorry!

I ordered a copy of this CD after listening to it on Accuradio's Celtic Fusion channel.
I must say that I knew of Paul Brady, but had never heard him sing. One night I hear this Long Goodbye song. The next night I put on the Celtic stuff to see if I can hear it again. No, but Oh What a World. I think, I really like this stuff. I have some books to order after their publication, so I order this CD at the same time. After 10 days I finally took the CD out of the player in the car. (Only because I was going to be in the house for a long period of time.)
I don't know if I'm nostalgic for pop music of my generation, or if this CD was the sine qua non of Brady's work, but I can't say enough about the arrangements and the music.
This isn't really Celtic music, but I'm sure glad for globalization in this case. What a world indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paul Brady is true musical talent, January 29, 2002
This review is from: Oh What a World (Audio CD)
Paul Brady kicks ____. He really puts it down, from the heart you can tell, and also, with total natural ability. The way he plays the acoustic guitar is so genuine.. I would have to say that his genuine quality is his strongest suit... not only the melodic ability to convey his feelings for the song, but the fact that it is obviously right out of his heart.

This guy is a pleasure for us all.. and I am enjoying everything that he does, this album and all the others, He has a very individual talent and personna. Brady is Brady, and only Brady is Brady.. no copy-cat, etc... very individual and very very talented.

Thank You Paul Brady, for your wonderful feelings and ability to convey beautiful sounds.

This is my first, not last, CD of Paul Brady. I heard a track in the music store and grabbed it. The music is great! His voice lies somewhere between Country and the Blues. He has an incredible voice that is moving yet soothing. GREAT STUFF!

Paul Brady has already been around a long time, and "Oh What A World" assures that he'll be around for a long time to come. I believe this CD will finally garner him the wider recognition and acclaim that he has long deserved. His music is sophisticated, yet filled with the most effective hooks, and his lyrics are among the most intelligent and substantive to be found in all of pop music today. I own and love all of Paul's CDs and "Oh What A World" may very well be his most accessible recording yet. Paul definitely deserves to be regarded side by side along his better known contemporaries, including Van Morrison, Sting, Mark Knopfler, the Moody Blues, etc. To that end I'm giving "Oh What A World" to all of my music-loving friends who've yet to discover this major, major talent. If you're not yet familiar with Paul Brady, don't wait a minute longer--get "Oh What A World" today. You'll LOVE it! Please e-mail me and let me know what you think at <therodgeATflashDOTnet>.

I am a long time Paul Brady fan owning all of his solo cds from 1981's "Hard Station" up to his new release "Oh What A World". Brady is master of adult contemporary music but his latest effort, even with the help of many co-writers, falls short. It's a good cd, but I can't help but think about one of Brady's better efforts, 1991's "Trick Or Treat". On "Oh What A World" Brady explores his usual territory of relationships and love with a keen eye as always. The music is what hinders this disc. Some of the songs pass by without being memorable, others, like "Oh What A World" and "The Law Of Love" are great numbers. Overall, this cd is solid, just not all that interesting or memorable. If you are a Brady fan, it's worth buying.
