Still Amazing, November 9, 2011
This is one of my all time favourite albums. It is still amazing to listen to after all these years. The re-issue was well worth buying, not only for the extras [Amazing] but the re-mastering is superb. I got rid of my stereo about 2 years ago, and play all my music either thru iPod or the dvd surround. This re-issue sounds unbelievable thru the dvd player. Deep, warm and the beats are crisp. Excellent job. The second disc is basically the 3 singles released from the album at the time [Get Real = Still a club favourite and rightly so; Oh World = The Delerium Mix is simply beautiful; and my favourite the Chic cover I Want Your Love - I remember playing the 12" of this on repeat when I first got my grubby hands on it back in the day:)] and the various mixes they came in on vinyl, most on CD for the first time. [When this was released in 1989 originally, CDs were still a rarity for albums, never mind for singles]
This is in no way a Frankie Goes To Hollywood album [although like Relax, Get Real was banned by the BBC and sent the sales of the single soaring, although unfortunately not to Frankie like millions] This is still Paul Rutherford's only proper album to date; he has done other work and collaborations, but I really do wish he would just get in the studio and make a masterpiece for the 21st Century. If you ever read this Paul [:-D] Get your finger out!
