Editorial Reviews

OhGizmo! is a blog that focuses on gadgets, innovation and design. It sets itself apart by recognizing and catering to two personality traits shared by most gadget lovers: a keen sense of aesthetics, and an almost childlike hunger for amazement. What this means is that in addition to the usual gadget fare, you can also expect to find articles on elegantly designed furniture, ingeniously conceived household products and groundbreaking technology.

Kindle blogs are fully downloaded onto your Kindle so you can read them even when you're not wirelessly connected. And unlike RSS readers which often only provide headlines, blogs on Kindle contain full text content and images, and are updated wirelessly throughout the day.

4.0 out of 5 stars Witty techno fun... June 19, 2008
This is the only blog that I actually have chosen to continue past the 14 day trial. The writing is witty and each review is short. Quick entertainment on an almost daily basis for any gadgeteer.

Of course, the pictures are lacking given the Kindle's capabilities with graphics, but that's not the blog's fault. Just a little frustrating when you're trying to get a feel for the look of some crazy device that the blog is talking about. That being said, the pics are a somewhat necessity you're describing strange gizmos which makes this blog not entirely kindle-izable.

Overall, an entertaining blog with some actual good ideas for unique presents. A gadgeteer's dream.

What you see is what you get with this one. I've been reading it on the Kindle DX and the articles come off almost exactly as if you were reading the actual blog on the web. The pictures are translated well on the DX and the full articles come through (even though on some of the articles on the website, you need to click through to expand them).

You get approximately 10 articles at a time that are short but well written. The front page of OhGizmo! plus or minus 1 or 2 articles is generally what is sent to the Kindle. These range from critiques on the newest gadgets, making fun of ridiculous new gadgets (they have a short article making fun of a strange looking new remote from Monster right now), and articles on deals and recent tech news. Many of the gadgets they write about tend to be fairly outlandish and stuff you wouldn't always see on other blogs.

It's nice reading, but I give it only four stars due to the limited number of articles. With such short snippets about each entry, there should really be more at one time. It's very easy to get through the entire collection of entries in a few minutes and doesn't seem to be updated as frequently as some of the other blogs I have tried out.
