Book Description

February 1997
Here is the first comprehensive guide to the unique methods that have made the Ohashi Institute famous around the world. Ohashi has moved beyond traditional shiatsu to develop an approach to acupressure that is holistic rather than symptomatic, energizing rather than exhausting, spiritual rather than purely physical. Above all, his techniques are designed to foster a mutual exchange of energy through bodywork that enriches both the give and the receiver. Open this book and discover for yourself the rejuvenating powers of Ohashiatsu.

Editorial Reviews

Review

The Ohashi Bodywork Book is the first to detail the Ohashiatsu method: a unique body-massage program that facilitates the exchange of energy between giver and receive r, thereby energizing both. In Ohashiatsu, the benefits go first to the giver, then are passed to the receiver. How this seemingly miraculous process occurs is pictured in dramatic, clear photographs by K an Okano that illustrate entire body movements, and not just acupressure points. Also included is a pull-out booklet of meridian charts for easy reference while practicing Ohashiatsu. Visually sophisticated and elegantly designed, The Ohashi Bodywork Book will quickly become an essential refer ence work for those readers seeking serious knowledge of bodywork and massage. The Ohashi Bod ywork Book is a highly recommended addition to the reference shelf of the martial arts do jo, the massage clinic, and the massage practitioner. -- Midwest Book Review

This is a beautiful reference book for anyone interested in learning about Ohashi's methods. More than just a collection of techniques, Ohashiatsu is all about the health of the giver. Strengthening the giver's body and general disposition. There is a lot of information in the book. If one continues on with body work, you will find yourself referring back to this book often.
