I think this is a great toy for the price I paid. My children have enjoyed playing with it even without the hose connected to it.

Although box says for 3+, I chose to take the risk and let my 1.5 year old paly with it. She seems more fascinated with hitting the ball with the club, and that is exactly why I got this (I paid $5.29 on Amazon). So, it's worth that much. I have not hooked up to hose for outdoor use, but that gives the toy some versatility of use down the road. In effect, you get an indoor toy and an outdoor toy. BTW, the base is not that useable inside, so if you want a plastic club and 3 balls, good for eye-hand coordination, it is a pretty decent toy. Not sure how well it works when hooked up to a hose, so sorry I can not help there.
