5.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable
My mom used these when I was little and I have always preferred them. I like that they mold to the ear but do not get oily and hot like others. The cotton keeps them nice and cool. I have trouble using foamies-they just never seal in my little ear canals so I need a form fitting kind like these. I sometimes tear one piece apart and make 2.

I have been looking for comfortable ear plugs for a side-sleeper with tiny ears that will block out noisy neighbors and barking dogs. Most earplugs are too big for my ears and hurt when I wear them all night. After reading the positive reviews, I thought I would give them a try. Where have you been all my little overly sensitive to sounds life, oh Ohropax? Even as a little girl I have been overly sensitive to noises especially when trying to fall and stay asleep. I used to drive my parents crazy when I was little asking them to turn down the sound on the TV! When I was little I would try to fall asleep with my fingers in my ears - didn't work. As a teenager with the transitor radio to my ears (dating myself, I know). THEN I discovered Flents Ear Stopples and all was right in my world for many, many years. Then some strange evil ruled the planet and the quality of Flents went way down. The wax was sometimes old or almost non-existent. I couldn't trim them to fit my ears because they were so hard (not to mention jamming them into my ears). What fresh Hell is this? And they became a little harder to find. What no fellow Proust-like sound haters to beef up the market? Then I went on Amazon to buy more Flents (a gal's gotta do what a gal's gotta do). And noticed Ohropax and saw it got good reviews from former Flents lovers. I figured I'd try them. What a REVELATION! The quality is infinitely better than Flents ever thought of being (even in the hey day). Don't even think twice - make the switch NOW! You'll be eternally blissful!

I decided to go on-line to find ear plugs that fit comfortably, block noise and don't hurt when you sleep on your side. I have an obnoxious dog next door that barks sometimes early on weekend mornings. These ear plugs are just like the reviews I read, they are comfortable, form to your ear, block noise better than any I have tried. Thanks to these I can sleep in on weekends now. They are a great product and I will definately buy more again.

Most earplugs are too big for my ears and hurt when I wear them all night. After reading the positive reviews, I thought I would give them a try. They do block out the noise wonderfully, but there are two problems with this product...and I suspect with wax earplugs in general. 1) They leave your fingers and ears a waxy mess...like you have been playing with melting crayons. 2) The seal is so perfect, that they kind of hurt your eardrums when put them in because of the air you are inadvertently forcing into your ears when you put them on. If you don't mind that, then it's a great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars My lifesaver!!, June 27, 2010

My husband snores, to the point that the bed shakes. He sounds like a hibernating bear.
It's funny to speak of it, but it has been absolutely hellish. It's been going on for a year.
He keeps saying he'll get a sleep study done. Lately, it's been as bad as when our babies were first born.

In the meantime, we've tried Breathe Right strips, which have worked on and off.
Still...when they haven't worked, it's meant absolutely no sleep for me.

I've tried sleeping pills, which work, but I don't want to become overly dependent on them.

When I lose sleep, it affects my appearance, my performance at work, my nervous system.

I've tried other ear plugs but they really hurt my ears a lot! I gave up on the idea of ear plugs altogether.
Until I Googled "best ear plugs for snoring" and Ohropax came up.

Seriously, I was ready to pay up to $100 for plugs...anything for one night of uninterrupted sleep.

I tried these out without much hope. I figured they would hurt just like the others. They don't!
Because they're wax, they mold to my ear and are very, very comfortable.

They really do muffle out sound and I've been sleeping really well. This is my 3rd night using them and I'm so happy.
I mean, my husband still needs to do that sleep study but in the meantime, these ear plugs have been such a help.

Highly recommend.

the wax-cotton Flent brand is just as a good...these Ohropax are bit softer and smaller....warm in the hand and snuggle the fit into the entrance of your ear canal, then seal out the noise...foam earplugs do not compare.

These filter out most noises, but I am still able to hear my alarm clock. I assume I would be able to hear the smoke detector as well. These work much better than foam ear plugs, and stay in the ear. The only down-side is: I am not sure about the long-term effects of using these in ears.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop, Breathe and Buy these earplugs., August 20, 2011

PROS: Blocks out sounds, except loud speaking. I have used them in hospitals (did not hear the paging system), to bed (with snoring spouse), sleeping in a European airport (don't ask), and using an air purifier (on the highest level- sounds like a DASH-8 taxiing). Custom fit. Learn the phrase, "What? Can't hear you."
CONS: Few, really. Gotta remember to unblock your ears after wearing the plugs for a few hours (just loosen the top portion from the ear to balance air pressure).
CAREFUL: Read direction on the plugs for their correct removal. Discard of the plugs when the pink color starts turning whitish pink (every day use, about 9 days). Don't forget to remove the pink cotton-wool protecting each plug, just before you use them.

I have tried five or six brands of ear plugs (all available at Amazon.com). The problem is that they might plug the ears, but they do not reduce sounds. Many were uncomfortable to wear. These ear plugs are made of wax infiltrated with cotton wool. They soften and form to your ear canal's shape. Came across these ear plugs, quite by chance, at a drug store in Munich. Thought I would try them. Amazing!
Although they are slightly more expensive than the other manufacturers' product, they do work very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great earplugs but buy elsewhere!!!!, October 7, 2010
This review is from: Ohropax Ohropax Wax Ear Plugs 12 plugs (Health and Beauty)
This earplugs are soft and comfortable and because of the wax they fit in every ear and block the most db - but buy elsewhere! You shouldn't pay more than $5 a box with shipping. In a german drugstore you get those for around 2.50 Euros. Go to earplug superstore and save with a 10 pack box!

I have to deal with an ongoing noise problem, so I've tested a variety of devices, including many ear plugs. I like these because they're the only ones I've tried that are comfortable enough to not interfere with my sleep at all. However, they don't block sound completely for me, so I have to combine them with a fan or other white noise device. So these are my choice for night use, but not for day.
