Product Description

Made of reprocessed polyethylene, the Wedcotainer's low profile makes it possible to drain engine oil and antifreeze from under even the lowest of cars then store and transport them in the same unit. The funnel screws onto the side of the container while being used then snaps into a specially designed cavity in the side of the container for storage. Black. 6 quart capacity. Ideal for disposal of most automotive liquids such as oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, etc.

This works perfect for changing the oil in the atv, mower and motorcycle.
Robert Hile
Since you can lay it flat or stand it up, you can store this almost anywhere so that it's out of the way when you don't need it - a big plus for a cramped garage.
Nick Panaccio
You remove the yellow piece in the middle of the bin, unscrew the yellow cap, finally you screw on the large yellow piece where the yellow cap was.

from the picture, i thought the oil drained into that big yellow hole in the middle. turns out that's just the funnel and you screw it on where the yellow cap is on the corner. that means it needs quite a bit more space than you think. probably not a big deal on a car, but a bit of an issue under my motorcycle.

I bought this item after a long search for a product that was NOT made by the same company that makes most of the oil drain pans that are found in almost every department store. I was not disappointed by this one. At first it took a minute for me to figure out why there was only one hole in the entire container but then I saw that the yellow catch funnel actually attaches to the hole on the top. Its a good way to save space but I do wish that the funnel was a little wider in diameter to make catching the old oil a little easier. Also while the funnel does have some sort of small guard pieces to stop things from falling in the gaps are still large enough for a drain nut to easily fall in. If that does and you've got a pan full of used oil I don't even want to know how hard it would be to fish that nut out of there. Over all so far its a good product. Only time will tell if the cap on this one is made to last but at least the pan is designed to lay flat and that will keep leakage to a minimum if so.

I bought this because I learned that Blitz products were failing me over and over. I'm impressed at the threading for the small cap - it's like thick, cast plastic. The cap screws on tight and feels like it will last.

It's also nice that the handle for carrying this is on the same end as the cap for pouring. You can trust that this won't spill while carrying it.

My only complaint is how small the funnel is. Some cars spill oil over a large area when removing the oil filter. It could be a challenge to catch all that oil with the funnel that comes with this oil pan.

However, this seems like a much higher-quality product than the likes I've had from Blitz.

I purchased this to change the oil in my BMW R1200RT. There is plenty of clearance between the drain pan and the drain plug/oil filter. Well built pan with opening at the very top so that oil does not leak out when you set it up on it's end.

This seems like it would be a good product if it didn't have a hole in it. Unfortunately, this unit does and it leaked used motor oil into the back of my car.

I had one of these for many years and generally agree with everyone's positive comments, when it was new.

After many years the fit of the giant yellow funnel got loose where it screws onto the black tank and oil would leak at the joint onto the garage floor. Also, when the funnel is screwed on it's fragile and an off-center bump, like dropping the oil filter on it, stresses that joint and probably caused some wear.

So consider it a "wear item" and replace it when it gets worn, before it leaks.

I do not change the oil in my car(s). I do, however, change the oil in all the lawn and snow equipment I have. So I didn't need or want any of those very large containers that seem to dominate this part of the market. This was one of the few smaller pans/storage container that looked promising and I have no regrets from having purchased it. The funnel screws on securely to the pan and it has "ribs" to help with transferring other containers into this one very easily (in case you drain something into a metal can, for example, and then pour the metal can into this container. When not in use, the funnel stores nicely in a cavity on the face of the container (as shown in the picture) so I don't have to worry about losing it. It stands up on end when in storage mode so it doesn't take up much garage space. And I've had no problems with the cap leaking so overall it does everything I was hoping for.

This product works well. It has a low clearance to fit underneath many vehicles. The built in funnel keeps oil off your garage floor or driveway. Holds all the oil for most mid-sized or smaller cars or small SUV's (which is what I have). You can store it sitting up or laying down and either way, the cap sits at the top...so even if it's not a total seal, you won't end up leaking oil all over the place unknowingly. I like this product.
