Here's the first complete user's guide to oil mist lubrication technology.
Oil mist lubrication is used on literally thousands of pumps and electric motors in the U.S. petrochemical industry. This lubrication method has been demonstrated toreduce rolling element bearing failures by as much as 90%, thus offering significant technical and economic advantages over other lubrication systems. This comprehensive guide book provides plant managers and maintenance engineers with a ready resource to understand the design parameters, application and economics of this important lubrication technology. The information presented is based on years of hands-on experience and extensive research which have clearly demonstrated the reliability and profitability advantages of oil mist lubrication in a broad spectrum of industrial settings. This is the first book to present specific user-oriented design details covering application for machine tools, pumps, electric motors and other rotating equipment in the paper, pharmaceutical, steel, petrochemical, textile and other process industries. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This review is from: Oil Mist Lubrication: Practical Applications (Hardcover)
I was pleased to see that this greatly expanded second edition is giving well-researched and plausible data on how and why oil mist is used by some of the most profitable industrial plants in the world. The old pro Heinz Bloch has teamed up with a very bright and competent researcher from Texas A&M University, to go beyond just the installation and application-related data. There are case histories, short-cut calculation methods to illustrate cost justifiction, and numerous illustrations. The book clearly shows that there is virtually no antifriction bearing that doesn't benefit from oil mist applied as either a pure mist, a fine oil spray, or fully condensed oil droplets. It also shows that purge mist (wet sump), makes sense only on sliding bearings. The reader will gain an understanding as to which application fittings are best for the service and why closed, environmentally friendly oil mist systems are the wave of the future. Well done, gentlemen.

This review is from: Oil Mist Lubrication: Practical Applications (Hardcover)
Oil mist lubrication is used on literally ten-thousands of pumps and electric motors in the U.S. petrochemical industry and has become the choice of reliability professionals on all six continents. This lubrication method has been demonstrated to reduce rolling element bearing failures by as much as 90%, generating significant technical and economic advantages over other modes of lubrication. Here is the complete guide to this demonstrated reliability and profitability tool. This comprehensive text explains how extensive research at Texas A&M University in the late 1980's and early 1990's has solidified our understanding of the underlying reasons why and how oil mist actually works in the safest, most reliable and cost-effective fashion. The book gives plant managers and maintenance personnel a thorough knowledge of the design, application, implementation and cost savings of oil mist lubrication systems. Based on decades of experience and extensive failure analysis, this user-oriented text includes all the necessary mist lube-related design and implementation details for machine tools, pumps, electric motors, and other rotating equipment in the paper, pharmaceutical, steel, petrochemical textile, and similar process industries.
