I purchased this to evaluate the teaching style of this author. I was so impressed with the detailed step by step instructions that I purchased another pdf lesson and then went on to order her book Painting for Photographers. I especially like the hint she gave about opening the tutorial in one window on your desktop and opening another window with Photoshop or Corel Painter so that you can work through the lesson as you are reading the tutorial. Her instructions are very clear and the illustrations are very detailed. I would buy from this author again without hesitation.

Works well on my iPad with the Kindle app. I was not sure I would get all the color with the Kindle app, but it works just fine on the iPad. Looking forward to downloading more of the same.

This tutorial is fantastic! I've taken two Artistry Retreats offered Karen Sperling and this step by step tutorial was a great addition to the techniques I've already learned from Karen. I'm looking forward to more tutorials such as this!

This really worked out for me.

I was able to follow the instructions on my new flash pad at the same time as I was using my computer with painter 12.

This allowed me to go back and forth in the instructions without messing around with with the painting program itself.

I only wish I was smart enought to figure out how to see it also on my iPhone 4s as well.

This is a wonderful Kindle book that has some excellent information on how to take a photo into Painter and make it look like an oil painting.

My only suggestion is that on the Kindle Fire the images are a little too low in resolution. It would be nice to zoom in and see the Corel Painter screen captures with more clarity.

Other than that, it's a great ebook.

Karen S writes such clear, simple & informative instructions on how to paint from photographs. I find I can adapt her knowledge to create unique results with which I am more than pleased. Having the words on a Kindle PC & my iphone make her lessons/articles even more simple to follow. Great instructor, great app. Thanks! IRE

The article is precise, detailed and will stimulate you to complete your portrait painting while still allowing you to add your own style to the work.
I downloaded the article to my iPad 2 and it works great.
I encourage anyone who is searching to be creative with their artwork to give it a try.

Other reviewers seem to have already been familiar with the authors work. Without sample work or one complete sample tutorial of what appears to be a series, we aren't able to judge.

Kudo's to web marketing. We all can write find a few people to write reviews, or even write them ourselves. I suspect the author just expects that no one will complain over a $3 risk. I suggest keeping your money until you can see more work or value.
