5.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes, beautiful cookbook, May 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Oil & Vinegar (Hardcover)
Since I have bought this cookbook, I turn to it more often than any of my other cookbooks. I've tried about 25 of the recipes and have been very happy with each one. My two favorites are the tortilla soup and Turkey Mountain salad. The tortilla soup is the best I have ever eaten, and is so easy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for your Cookbook Collection!, May 7, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Oil & Vinegar (Hardcover)
A wonderful array of recipes for cooks of all abilities!
The food styling and photography are beautiful as well as the cover. It could be a coffee-table book if you get it off your kitchen counter. I also enjoyed reading all the oil history and helpful hunts sprinkled among the pages.
Try the "Frangelico Fantasy Dessert", "T-Town Brisket" and "Curried Spinach and Apple Dip". Mmmmmm!

5.0 out of 5 stars A truly superb cookbook compendium, September 15, 2003
This review is from: Oil & Vinegar (Hardcover)
Nicely illustrated with full-page color photography, Oil & Vinegar is comprised of the best of more than two thousand recipes that were submitted by members of the Junior League of Tulsa, Oklahoma. From Coconut Shrimp; Strawberry Butter; and Beef Salad with Asparagus and Broccoli; to Seared Sesame-Coated Salmon Sandwich; Veal Scaloppine in Lemon Sauce; and Cold Ginger Souffle, Oil & Vinegar is a truly superb cookbook compendium that would grace any personal or community library cookbook collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Among the best cookbooks, August 16, 2011
This review is from: Oil & Vinegar (Hardcover)
Our family tradition is to rate all new recipes on a 5 point scale from poor (1) to excellent (5). Every recipe we have tried from this beautiful cookbook has been a 4 or 5, with more 5's than most cookbooks. The recipes are not too involved, but taste like they are! You should buy it for the Atomic Salad recipe alone! I have begun using this cookbook as my "go-to" wedding gift to couple with a nice Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar and a cookbook holder. It is always very well received.

I love the Golden Driller Salad recipe - I use it all the time as a dip - and it's always a hit! Oil & Vinegar is a terrific cookbook. It's a great wedding gift!

5.0 out of 5 stars Family Pleaser, July 8, 2011
This review is from: Oil & Vinegar (Hardcover)
I love my Oil & Vinegar cookbook. The recipes are delicious and I've only tried about 10 or so, but plan to try many more. My personal favorites are the Atomic Salad (p. 80) and the Golden Driller Salad (p.81). The Tomato Basil Soup (p.102) was a crowd pleaser.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cookbook Ever, April 10, 2009
By
This review is from: Oil & Vinegar (Hardcover)
I purchased this cookbook a few years ago while on a business trip in Tulsa, OK. I have tried many of the recipes and every last one is superb. Everthing from the bread pudding to the sauces. I recommend to anyone who loves to cook and desires a recipe that ALWAYS tastes wonderful. You won't be dissapointed.

If you collect the Junior League cookbooks as I do, be sure to add "Oil & Vinegar" from Tulsa to your collection. You will love the recipes. I have only one complaint: there are no photos of the completed recipes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious Variety of Reliable Recipes, December 5, 2007
This review is from: Oil & Vinegar (Hardcover)
Too many cookbooks these days include recipes that fail to turn out as promised -- even when they've been followed to a "T". Not this one! Everything I've tried has been easy AND wonderful! My favorites so far: Atomic Salad and the Cookie Jar Gingersnaps.
