Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Gr 5-9-Bial does a fine job of looking at two Native American tribes, their origins, histories, customs, beliefs, and current status. Excellent-quality, full-color and black-and-white photographs and reproductions, both historical and contemporary, show people engaged in everyday tasks. The texts include an introduction to the groups' languages and at least one Native recipe. Particularly useful in both titles is the extensive section of sources for further information, which include print materials, Web sites, and tribal organizations. Solid cultural and historical overviews for reports, and for general readers curious about Native American people.-Mercedes Smith, Bishop Kenny High School, Jacksonville, FL
