About the Author

Matt Forsythewas born in Toronto in 1976. He studied politics and religion at McMaster University and has worked variously as a database programmer in Dublin, a motorcycle courier in London, and a kindergarten teacher in Seoul, South Korea. He works at the National Film Board of Canada in Montreal and teaches journalism at Concordia University. His illustrations have also appeared in a variety of magazines and periodicals including the Wall Street Journal, Chickadee Magazine, and Kayak: Canada's History Magazine for Kids.

Matt Forsythe is an author and illustrator living in Los Angeles. He works at Cartoon Network as lead designer on the show, Adventure Time.

The first picture book he illustrated (My Name is Elizabeth) was a NY Times Notable Book of the Year for Children in 2011.

His first book Ojingogo was named a 2008 Book of the Year by Quill & Quire magazine and won a Doug Wright Award for Canadian Cartooning. Ojingogo was nominated twice for the Eisner Award and was released in Swedish and French.
