Shakira is, in my opinion, one of the most prolific, gifted, intelligent and beautiful singer/songwriters from Latin America today. Not only are her songs full thought, but she delivers them in such a soulful and expressive way! These two songs are a great sample of her work.

"Ojos Asi" is amazing! For those of you who don't know, Shakira is half Lebanese/half Colombian. This is actually a common mix Venezuela and Colombia, where there are is a significant Lebanese population. This song is a warm, vibrant tribute to her duel cultural heritage. The song is in, both, Spanish and Arabic. The percussion is definitely distinctively of the Arabic persuasion and the lyrics are pure poetry! You definitely are going to want to get up and dance.

"Underneath Your Clothes" is off of her "Laundry Service" album, her English crossover introduction to non-Spanish speakers. This song is so, so very sexy and powerful. I love the guitar on this..........
